The medallion is a nice shiny silvery color and the text that I submitted is very clearly legible and was transcribed accurately onto the medallion. The chain is suitable for use if you are going to where this as an ID tag under your clothing. If you want to use it as decorative jewelry, you will probably need to get a nicer looking chain. I like that fact that this tag can hold quite a bit of text on both sides. It would be nice if the company would also offer a selection of images (such as the Caduceus symbol for medical alerts) that could be engraved on the tag if desired.Update in 2016--I reordered this pendant in 2016 because the information on it needed to be updated. I received the new pendant quickly. Still the best value that I could find considering the amount of custom text that can be printed on the pendant.

I am pleased with this item. I ordered it has a gift after I had already bought another dog tag from another company. This is a standard sized tag. I ordered the black one,and it came out much better than I expected. I thought the font might be ugly because you only have one choice, but the writing is very neat, precise. The black dog tag is somewhat glossy, but not too much. It looks like it cost more money than it did. The Seller shipped in less than 24 hours and that was great. All in all, I have nothing bad to say. My SO has yet to take it off.
