Amplifier for the driver that's upgrading a factory stereo unit!

Perfect amplifier for me and my set-up! Has the right dynamics for a bump up to the next level of quality sound on your factory unit! It's not a blaster for competition. It provides only 50 watts at 4 ohms to four speakers (which is significant). I'm pleased with the performance and does not get hot beneath the driver's seat! If you see reviews about the unit getting hot or doesn't pump up the wattage, that's because they're not too familiar with how the system works. As long as you know the speakers wattage and max capability, any amplifier will work. Lastly, you'll know what type of speakers you'll have once you know that actual (nominal/RMS) operating wattage of the speakers. Any speaker that's significant in cost may be that it can handle a lot of wattage with a high RMS/Nominal range of 90 watts and higher. Less expensive speakers won't be used for competition sounds. So...use the right amplifier for the speakers you have or plan to get. This amplifier works perfect and serves my needs. Very happy with it and you will too!

GREAT amp to run an entire system.

First things first, NO, this amp is NOT a massive powerhouse. It's a fullrange 4 channel amp that takes up almost ZERO space, has 4 channels, 1&2 have a high pass filter, 3&4 have a low pass filter, and it has 2 separate RCA inputs. That combo is VERY rare, and the price is very acceptable for the feature list.On to the review! I'm using this amp in a "Tool box" speaker system I built. I have 2 SLA batteries wired in parallel as a power source, I'm using a balancing RC battery charger as an internal charger, it outputs 6amps and will balance the batteries at 15v. I'm using an old walmart special touch screen bluetooth head unit as the audio source, two Skar EVL-65 D4's wired down to 2 ohms each on channel 3 and 4, two SSL 6x9's on channels 1 and 2, both channels are set to their respective crossover. I need to find a better tool box to package the whole setup in but for now the concept works a little too well. Our downstairs neighbors (they're on the 1st floor, we're on the 3rd) said they could feel the bass when I turned it up 3/4 of the way. I've got a bunch of trucks at work (I'm the fleet mechanic) that our guys want a better stereo in, this amp will be getting put in every single one of their trucks, if corporate approves us modifying the stereo systems.

Don't buy! Died after less than a year!

Update: I purchased a Taramps 400 watt amp to replace this. I was able to remove both the noise filters so problem was definitely with the amp. Also the Taramps is much louder . This one wasn’t much better than the sound from my head but the Taramps is a big improvement. For anyone looking to replace this amp with something better I would recommend the Taramps 400 watt rms amplifier sold here on Amazon. My speakers are 50 w rms and 65 watt rms and work great with it!End update.Lost a channel in the rear speakers. Switched RCA cables and speaker wires. Still no working. Decided to use as a 2 channel amp and discovered no matter whether I used 1 and 2, or 3 and 4, there was always a channel not working. Since it wasn't the RCA cables or the speaker wiring, I decided to remove the unit and threw it away. The head unit I have supplies 22W RMS and sounds fine. This amp was way more trouble than it was worth.I will mention also that I had to use ground loop filters on both sets of RCA cables with this amp. Funny thing is I have another amp powering my sub and that one does not need the filter. I also added a 12v power filter for good measure. The sound was a whine that increased with rpms. Tried grounding the whole system same spot and still had whine so i added the filters.

Good upgrade from factory sound

This 400w amp is a good upgrade from factory sound. However, the 1200w amp on my sub can easily overpower it with bass. Had to turn it way down. My speakers (infinity reference 5.25 in front, jbl reference 6x9 in the back) can handle more, but this works great. I have no issues with overheating over two hour drives (and it is suffocating in my glovebox...). Overall I am satisfied with the quality for the price I paid during a holiday sale. It must have been $30 or so on sale. This was my first amp installation, and I have no regrets. However my next amp will definitely be more powerful. This amp WILL distort at high volume, so adjust the gain with the dials until max volume is clear. If you want something simple that will give you better sound for a good price, buy this amp. I have no complaints about this amp for the price and power range advertised.

Great little amp for your project

This amp was purchased as part of an arcade project. I used it to drive 2 6-inch Alpine mid range speakers and 2 6 by 9 full range Rockford Fosgate speakers. I powered it from a 15vdc power supply that I had laying around. The fidelity is great (factoring in the price), and the installation is simple, as expected. I get a little amplifier noise from the LED TV that I'm using, but that's not this amplifier's fault.Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with this purchase.
