Most reviews talk about these swords as toys for young kids, so I just wanted to add my own spin. I'm a high school teacher and bought these swords as props for my students to use while acting out Shakespeare in class. They do bend easily and get tattered with use - but my original set has withstood 5 years' worth of teenagers bashing at each other while reading Romeo & Juliet, and a few of them are still in good shape. Granted they only get played with a few times a year, but we definitely test their limits ... kids' play is one thing, but 16-year-old boys' play-fighting is another!

I bought these for my 5 year old's birthday thinking that he and his big brother would immediately destroy then in a sword fight. Hence, buying with backups in tow. A month and a half later, they are both still on their first sword and still loving them. Also, fun tip, you can make a sword sheath for yourself with a paper towel roll, a hole puncher, and some yarn. Definitely a birthday win!

I threw a “Princess Party” for my daughter’s 5th birthday party and got wands, tiaras, etc. for all the girls. But I needed to get something for the 2 boys that were attending, too. I found these swords on Amazon and thought these would work great because both boys could have 2 swords and we could just keep the other 2. Three swords were blue with yellow handles and 3 were red with blue hand covered handles. THEY WERE THE HIT OF THE PARTY!!! The girls wanted swords, too! All the kids were running around, playing with the swords and had a blast! And they are made of foam so we didn’t have to worry about kids getting hurt-lol! Only problem was there were 10 kids at the party and 6 swords. I kept hearing kids saying “I want a sword, too!” They didn’t care about the wands-lol! I should have gotten enough swords for the boys AND the girls! They did share though so it turned out OK. If you want young kids to have fun at a party, I highly recommend these swords!I knocked off 1 star because 4 of the 6 swords had a dent in them. But the kids didn’t seem to mind.

I bought these for my son about 2 1/2 years ago. He loves pretend sword fighting, so it doesn't hurt when he wacks us with it. These swords have gotten beat up, so they are falling apart, but they've held up and my son STILL plays with them. They're a great toy for any little sword fighter.

These swords are "okay." There is 7 inches of plastic tubing at the base of these swords, compared to 18" of plastic tubing in the longer 27" foam swords by Orange Tag. The foam and glue used in both appear identical. My hand can fit inside the hilt of the 27" sword comfortably, while it doesn't fit in these swords. Because the plastic tubing in the 27" is longer than the entirety of these swords, I won't order these again unless I anticipate they'll all be destroyed/lost within a week. If the plastic tubing was 12" in these, they'd be great short swords. I do prefer these overThis review is from a dad who is training his 21-month old son in the ways of bushido. I got these to use with my students while we read "Hamlet". They did break when we used them, but I think that has more to do with 17-18 year olds being a little too into the duel scene at the end than the actual product.

Thought i got ripped off when they first showed up. They were all bent and felt like a toddlers craft project quality. 3 months later and this things are holding together very well! My kid loves them, and has abused them. They feel really light weight and cheap, which actually is good when you’re being bludgeon by them. They are worth it.

If your kids are as ruff as mine they might last 2-3 weeks
