ThinkwareOBD Installation Cable for Use On Dash Cams - Suitable for Electric Vehicles

I usually use a local installer to install my Thinkware F770 into my new cars, as it needs to be connected to a constant 12v and an ignition feed too. This lead is absolutely perfect as it ensures that the camera is connected to all of the right feeds on my Mercedes E-Class without splicing any cables. All of the functions on the camera work fine, including parking mode. It’s also much cheaper than the local installer too.The pass through of the OBD port is great too, but like others the supplied bracket is just too small compared to the existing bracket. However, I was able to secure it using a single screw, which seems quite solid nonetheless.Overall an excellent product, but the manufacturer needs to provide a option for different brackets for different cars.

I was a bit skeptical that this would work, and probably a little bit cautious about plugging something into my ODB port to be honest!I really needn't have been! The install was really simple and took 20 minutes including hiding the cabling behind the panels and seals. The dash cam starts and runs, doesn’t cut out when auto start / stop kicks in and parking mode works perfectly.Best £29 I’ve ever spent! Saved me hours of manually hardwiring to the battery 5* 👍

Installation of my Thinkware dashcam was a breeze with this cable - no need to test for correct fuses to piggyback onto in the fusebox.Keeps the dashcam in constant recording mode if the cars start/stop system cuts the engine. When parked up and shutting down the engine this cable puts the camera into parking mode after a couple of minutes.

Unfortunately the cable arrived without the end piece! I tried to get in touch with them but its hard when there's no way to contact them unless you live in the USA!!However- they’ve got a beer one out for me the next day..! 👌

Was a little hesitant as I've not used this type of connection before but it works perfectly. Super easy to install, if you're unsure there are videos online from Thinkware with how it should all be connected.Camera works perfectly including parking mode which never worked when it was previously hard-wired.Cannot recommend enough.

Make install very easy, purchased two of these for our cars, fitted in Kia E-Niro Fully Electric & Audi A1. Both work great with Q800 Pro

I installed this on Toyota Prius 2018 model and it does not do what it was meant to do. Parking mode comes up every time when the car is running.Not good for Toyota Prius hybrid cars

Worked like a charm though I had to modify the mount point on my carEasier than the hardwired install

The concept of these cables is great. Very easy hookup, a spare OBD port, and enables parking mode of the Thinkware cameras.The only issue is that this particular cable doesn't work with the Thinkware X1000. Parking mode is random, sometimes waiting hours before it changes from recording to parking mode. Then the camera will turn itself back on (while the car is off).After working with Thinkware support, they determined that while this cable is not compatible with the X1000, the regular Thinkware OBD cable is (the one without the splitter). They were kind enough to send me one and I confirm that it works perfectly.If you don't have an X1000, get this cable. If you have an X1000, get the regular OBD cable.

My Dashcam used to restart every single day cuz of this device until I had to wire it to the battery

Purtroppo l'adattatore non si è dimostrato adatto per la mia Suzuki Vitara hybrid . L'alimentazione della dashcam si interrompeva dopo circa 2 minuti. Restituito l'articolo.

Used wiring harness for power to Thinkware Dashcam…….pretty easy to install in OBD port and then just a matter of running cord to dashcam. Pretty easy plug and play product.
