Great Device -- Nearly Flawless!!
The top critical review for this device is nonsense. You absolutely CAN do a remote reset with this device. That is its' purpose and it does this wellOver the years I have purchased FIVE of these devices. I've seen improvement in each version. The EZ-72b is the best version yet. It literally took less than 5 minutes to get this device configured and working in the app. You just plug into the same network of the device you're using, then SCAN, and it adds this device to the app. Very easy. The device is very configurable. You can set device name, various time parameters, and how it pings. I would recommend disabling SHUTDOWN. Should you accidentally shutdown the device remotely you must physically return to the device to turn it back on because this kills your internet. However, the RESET function works perfectly to power down/power Up your modem/router.I have Comcast and if the internet goes down, you must do a power reset on the modem to restore internet service. This device performs this task flawlessly. It is the perfect solution, especially when away from home.I give this device my unconditional endorsement. It's a great device!!

COLLECTS CREDIT CARD INFO! BEWARE!!
BE CAREFUL!! The process to set up the switch was NOT easy. In the process of scanning two QR codes, I got a screen that said 'enter your card info. your card will not be charged for activation'. After the info was entered, I got anothern screen that said 'your card was declined'. Say what?? "Put in info for another card." Did that. But again, screen said 'card was declined'. I glanced at top of screen and it showed something like 'en.sports.---'. WITHIN 90 MINUTES AN UNAUTHORISED CHARGE APPEARED ON CARD NUMBER 1!! The 'registration process' for this device is a giant scam!! You have been warned.

Nice upgrade from former model
Love the smaller form fit and the oled display. Units performs as designed on Ethernet or WiFi. I had to use the Ethernet connection to initialize the device.

Works good so far
I initially had this device connected to 2 separate devices that kept locking up on me while I was away. I had a lockup the other day and was able to reboot the device remotely and the system came back online. However if you connect this to internet equipment then as soon as you cut the power, you lose complete control of this system. You would need 2 sepetste internet connections if that’s the case. However it does shut the power off correctly.

Just installed; works fine
Just received my unit. Was surprised to learn that a log (presumably of restarts, etc.) and notifications (email or text) are only available if you purchase a $60 subscription. That was not mentioned anywhere in the description and that is the reason for 3 starts instead of 5. Using the iPhone App, I was able to setup and test a scheduled restart and a wifi ping restart. Testing the scheduled restart was just a matter of waiting until the restart time and verifing it worked (it did). I pulled the plug on the unit and verified my settings were restored. On my unit, the default ping-fail action was OFF -- that's NOT WHAT YOU WANT -- you want it Restart. I lengthened the ping timeout to several minutes (incase the ISP burps) and I set the restart delay to 30 seconds to give everything time to shutdown before power comes back up. My ASUS wifi router has a "WiFi off" button which allowed me to easily test the ping restart. The UI took some time to understand (don't forget to hit Save after all changes!); particularly getting the Time page setup (set the control to check the time every hour or so).Net: the device seems to work fine. I'm very disappointed they didn't tell us having a log (so you know if/how many restarts there have been) and getting notices costs $5 per month but I'll probably sign up.NOTE: if you go to the vendor's page, you'll see several other interesting devices.

The perfect remote power solution (and I mean perfect)
I have been using various versions of the ezoutlet series for many years and each revision has been a substantial improvement on the last. This current version is essentially perfect. It offers complete and total configurability and flexibility to cover every situation I have come across.Need for your router to automatically power recycle itself when it's WAN connection stops working? This will do it.Need for network switch to automatically power recycle itself if it loses access to your router LAN or WAN? This will do the trick.Need for a NAS or server to automatically power cycle itself if the HTTP or FTP services they offer stop responding? This will do the trick.Need to be able to manually command a power cycle reset of virtually any attached device or appliance when you are away from home or office? This will do the trick.Need to have the choice to access the power switch from your phone, or web browser? This will do the trick.Need the power switch to be able to connect to your LAN with either wired connect or wifi? This will do the trick. The only very minor complaint I would have is that the phone app and web interface are a little bit geeky and people who are not technically inclined might find it a little bit intimidating. That is kinda the price you pay for such wide ranging flexibility though. These power switches are magnificent. Unless you have a need to be controlling power to a very large number of different devices these are absolutely what you want.

Does exactly what is says, bonus points for having a LAN web interface instead of a proprietary app
This worked perfectly for my use case of a finicky cable modem. Can be set to ping a URL or an IP, one they preset or one you configure yourself, or you can access the device over the network and reset it manually.Extremely happy for the control/config page accessible via web browser from any device on the LAN, instead of an app than can only be used on my phone and will be "upgraded" to no longer work with this model in a year or two.
