I Knew It'd Be A CDR - I Thought Maybe For $15.99 They'd Put a Little Work Into It. What a load of crap.
Very disappointed. First of all, let's get this out of the way: I knew it'd be a CDR, and I knew it wasn't going to be the actual CD. But that's beside the point.First, I couldn't find a good description of an Amazon CreateSpace CDR package. The product listing is vague and shifty, and all feedback left about it is just someone who's angry, so it's a three word comment about how Amazon's dishonest. Amazon says it'll be a CDR, but they should say more. This is ridiculous. Saying the artwork "may be different" is an irresponsibly overstated approximation. What it means is that the original cover art will be framed by an ugly black-on-teal background that looks as cheap as it comes. They to to the trouble of laminating the paper, only to print absolutely nothing on its interior. The CD is labeled but with a generic template, as is the tray insert. If you're gonna charge people for this crap, be honest about it. Don't use vague descriptions that play up the product's quality. You can burn a CDR. Congratulations. What you should do is feature an unboxing video, or allow users to view the template used in manufacturing the discs. Not doing so, and continuing to parade this crap as anything like the original product is irresponsible. And at the profit you're turning by charging the RIDICULOUS $15.99 flat rate, continuing this way is more than unconscionable. It's predatory. I'm just one dude, but I'll do all I can to make sure no one I know spends any money on this scam.

Great (War) Death Metal
This is another great release from the Jungle Rot.As noted elsewhere, these guy from Illinois play mid-paced death metal, with its typical growling vo-kills with brutal war-themed lyrics. If this sounds interesting - buy this album. The Rot doesn't disappoint!

Reviewing Jungle Rot's War Zone in the style of Clint Eastwood
The GoodDoes not feature "A+" death metal vocals, but overall vocals are clear and easily decipherable.Good Riffs.Songs about war and death are always good in my book, especially when the lyrics aren't generic and boring.Since the band got screwed out of a 2006 U.S. tour for the album, they'll be releasing another album sometime early this year. The BadNot enough Double Bass. The Double Bass is there, but there are frequent moments where I think it should be there when it isn't. More often though I find myself thinking that it should be going faster. The UglyNot a single guitar solo. This album is a good example of why guitar solos are important in death metal because there isn't a single one of them. As a result the album just seems to chug along without anything particularly impressive. What we have is good, but nothing to write home about. The album being only about 30 minutes is a reasonable length for it, as it doesn't wear out its welcome.Jungle Rot is good for the occasional listen but they desperately need to start adding solos to their music. I can't say that I love the band, but I do like their music a bit. They have a formula that works for them, but they need to add more ingredients to it to work successfully.

this kicks butt!
this disc is excellent! this band knows what it is doing when it comes to rocking. they tend to slow down a bit on song # 6, but they really make up for it with the rest of the album. one cool thing about Jungle Rot is that they stand out from the pack. their music sounds like they're mixing death metal, thrash metal and groove metal together, but they still stomp. I wasn't disappointed with this disc and I hope to hear more from these guys in the future.

Does what it says on the tin!
If hardcore fused with old school death metal is your thing you can't really go wrong with Jungle Rot, sure their not reinventing anything or bringing anything to the table but some times that table is enough on it's own. No frills. No subtlety. No technical faffing about. They're called Jungles Rot, what are you expecting?
