BadgerAir-Brush Co. Model 105-7 Patriot Fine Airbrush Set

The media could not be loaded. Great airbrush unable to test it yet, due to air hose been 1/4" and my compressor it's 1/8" so I had ordered the adapter for it, but I had disabled an assembled the airbrush few times to get aquatinted with it first.The build quality it's supered and much preferred this then Iwata Eclipse, due the nozzle and handle needle back system. The plastic cup it's s minus for me, since mine came a bit lose so doesn't stick at all on my airbrush. The airbrush came in an old cardboard box, which its not ideal to store your airbrush quite large, so instead I adapted a plastic box that came with a 10 dollar airbrush when I purchased my air compressor, just modify the foam to adapted to fit my Patriot 105.Lastly adding all the extra parts makes this a great base purchase, that you enhance by having different tips for finer lines, and more control with the high roller trigger.Note: I found the assembly process quite straight forward, perhaps my previous experience with multiple airbrushes helps, but feels nice to have this on my hands after 15 years without working with traditional tools. Straight out of the box, hooked it up and tried to shoot Vallejo thinned 30% with the same pressure I’ve used with other Badger airbrushes. The air would not shut back off after depressing the valve and the needle would not close off when released. Had to place a rubber band around the paint cup and back around the needle to keep it returned to neutral and flick up on the button to shut the air off. Not ideal. After cleaning it out, I tore it completely down, ran needle juice on every surface to lube it up and found the button rubbing on the housing. Cleaned a burr off the housing with a mini file, put it all back together and now it’s working perfectly. Just ran more Vallejo, some Tamiya, ModelFlex and Dead Flat through it and completely happy. Not opposed to a little fine tuning but expected better.

It's not that there's a problem itself with the airbrush, as the airbrush is reliable and does its job well, but rather what you pay for in terms of the whole package isn't quite worth it.To begin with, the airbrush doesn't come with its dedicated case for storage, nor does it come with the extra nozzle tip. It's arguably a minor issue, but I'm bewildered why things are taken out in the first place. There shouldn't be a reason to get less when you're paying for more..So essentially, the extra price you are paying for is just for the hose (which usually won't fit your typical air compressor without adapters), the mixing bottle and pipette (which also happened to somehow break with just 3 gentle squeezes). This isn't going to be worth the extra you pay for.Honestly, it seems like a much better deal to just buy the airbrush alone, and to buy the other stuff separately as they're likely cheaper elsewhere. I do in fact regret my purchase, and would just buy the airbrush by itself if I could turn back time. Stay away from this bundle as it's not a good deal.

The airbrush itself seems to be of good quality manufacture. However I can’t use it yet because it comes with a hose that does not fit a standard compressor make end. So now I have to buy a set of adapters to try to make it work.

Seems to work good but it did not come with the connection For the compressor and it was difficult to find. Just hard when you get something and have to wait to use it because it doesn’t come with the correct equipment

Pound for pound the 105 is a well balanced brush, ideal for a beginner. I use it for model making and have found it reliable and easy to opperate. it comes from a family firm which has high regard for its workforce. See YouTube vid on tour of the works in USA.

First airbrush and I'm super happy with it , easy to use and clean and all around a great made product
