Good item and a reasonable price

Our local garage changed ownership and the quality of service is now pretty poor, so I am doing the maintenance and repair on our cars (Subaru Forester 2.0D and Fiat Panda Twinair). To do this efficiently, I needed a scanner to identify issues and fix problems on our vehicles. I tried a couple of dongle's that work with a downloaded app on your phone (e.g. Torque), but I couldn't get any information from the Subaru. Having satisfied myself that 'you get what you pay for' (the dongle's were about £40 apiece) and reading plenty of reviews, I bought the Topdun 800BT for £299. The item was shipped quickly and safely.I put the unit on charge for an hour, booted it up and linked it to the WiFi and checked for updates. Instructions are clear and easy to follow and it was simple to link the dongle to the hand held unit.With a couple of touches of the screen, the unit identifies the car's VIN, you can then command a 'health check'. It takes a few minutes to check the whole vehicle and then the information is displayed; whether the component is operating well, or if a fault has been logged. When a fault is logged it has fault code.'Click' on the code and the WiFi linked handset opens a Google search page, describing the fault code, identifying the parts, linking in to parts suppliers and videos showing how to repair the fault - brilliant.The ArtiDiag can also provide real time readouts on all, or selected, components and take a video of the data. This data along with screenshots and diagnostic reports can be emailed to yourself (or a customer)'The unit feels well made and robust and the buttons, touch screen work really well. The dongle slides and locks into the handheld unit, keeping it well protected when not in use and the whole unit comes in a nice, padded, bespoke case.I have only had the 800BT for about 3 weeks and I definitely fall into the 'amateur mechanic' category, but I can see that this tool is going to be really useful. I have identified and repaired 3 faults on one car and one fault on the other. I suspect that this tool is capable of a lot more wizardry that I have utilised at present, but, with my basic use, I couldn't be more chuffed with it.

A great product. Excellent for diagnosis and realtime monitoring. Packed with features and easy o use. The Bluetooth is great as cables always seem to be too short for these diagnostic devices.

I have Just brought this product one week ago first thing is good value for money as you get life time software updates which makes it stand out from the rest. You also get Bluetooth with it which is why it is a very modern diagnostic device it has 28 reset features but no bi directional control on it depending on vehicle you may not be able to use all of them Topdon also provide aftersales assistance after purchasing product thank you.

Way better than I expected will be an amazing help

Seems good. Read my fault lights, and pointed me to a faulty abs wheel sensor. Also pointed me to the internet for related fix posts.

Waste of money!! Don't buy it! Unfortunately for WV passat, for Vauxhall Vivaro the DPD regeneration function is not working on the description saying yes so don't bother to buy it for that ! Toopdon big shame! I want my money back!!
