I really wanted to like this
First, the bulb for the planetarium projector isn't installed, and they left it rattling around in the planetarium globe. If I didn't happen to have a flex magnet this would have been nearly impossible to extract. There is a spare included elsewhere in the kit, so if you don't happen to have a flex magnet and exceptional manual dexterity you aren't completely lost in the woods.Second, I could not get the VR app to work at all. It just stays stuck on the "look up at arrow" screen. I tried holding up every one of the cards included and still no joy. I even tried it on a 2nd phone and it still wouldn't work. From what I can tell looking at some of the review videos it may be missing one of the cards, as the manual says you have to unlock the cards in order. One video review showed 9 cards, and the package I received only had 8.Third, there's no handy support. The manual is extremely vague on the app, nor does the Uncle Milton site have any sort of a troubleshooting guide. The app doesn't have any help either. The best I could do was, again, video reviews on YouTube & elsewhere. I'm not a novice at this sort of thing, and I'm very, very good at hunting down information and I still wasted about an hour and a half looking for information that should have been in the manual or at worst a couple of mouse-clicks away.Fourth, the projector isn't great. This isn't a huge problem as at the price point I wasn't expecting anything jaw dropping. It's legible within about 2 to 3 feet of a surface, and gets blurrier the farther away the projector is from the wall / ceiling. In short, the main feature I was excited about (the VR app) was unusable to me, perhaps because the package was shipped incomplete. I don't really know for sure because of the complete lack of information from the manufacturer. Sadly, this is getting sent back.

cute toy
Cute toy but my wife bought it for her hobby husband with interest in science. Gave it to an 8 year old grandson. My Escape 2 cell phone didn't have enough memory to download required app. Wife's IPhone worked just fine. Don't waste your money
As others have said, there isn't anything to hold the VR. It took a minute to figure out the 3 things that are loaded in the app. They are honestly boring. I haven't read if we can purchase actual games, but the app sucks. It's cool for a 6 and 4 year old for about 10 minutes and then they are done. They haven't even asked to play it since they got it.The night light is just that; a night light. You can't even explore the atmosphere b/c it can't project on the wall. I was really hoping it was somewhat educational, but it's really a piece of junk. The lady who reviewed this saying the VR is awesome clearly hasn't tried a Samsung VR. Those are awesome. This one is not. I should have waited until after there were more reviews before purchasing. The couple reviews I read must have been staged ones to get people to buy it. I fell for it.I'll find something awesome for her to get to learn about planets, eventually. This wasn't it. You get what you pay for.

My Daughter Loved This!
I purchased this for my space obsessed little girl. She loved the planetarium on her ceiling and being able to map out the real stars in real time.It came with virtual reality glasses that you use with a card game that is supposed to go with a mobile application. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars was because once the app was loaded and the phone was placed inside the glasses. It seemed to be stuck on the second screen where it asks the user to LOOK UP to start the game. She never did get to play the actual learning game because of it. I couldn't find any troubleshooting for this game anywhere either. Otherwise this is an amazing kit.

Glorified Night light!!!!
This is nothing more then a glorified nite light. I had one as a kid that was obviously a different brand but it was freaking amazing. It was one with a bright light and showed all the constellations perfectly. It came with CDs that talked about each constellation and stories behind them. This can't even be placed in a closet, seriously needs to be held in some type of two foot tent to see anything!!! On top of that I couldn't even get it to work with the items provided I had to go buy bulbs because the two that came with it did not work. Complete waste of money. So disappointed and I still would like to find one that actually works well for my kiddos so they can learn to love astronomy As much as I do.
