Roxio Creator NXT 5 (Old Version)

I needed to replace my old DVD burning software because of loss due to a power surge. I had Roxio before, so just bought a newer version. This has what I needed plus extras. Everything loaded easily enough and works great.

Had many installation issues. Could not remove NXT 4, no diagnostic messages, then this release hung at FastFlik. Finally got it loaded, hope this one is not as buggy.

No good. to many steps . No instructions on how to use the program. Have to use the internet to get instructions . Stop using Creator 5 and went back to using Creator 2010. This Creator NXT 5 was not through out to good. It should be strap and start over. The worse program I ever use. I been using Roxio since day one. This program is just to hard with no instruction.. If I could it would have no stars.

This is my second purchase of Roxio Creator NXT 5. I was unable to read the disk supplied with my purchase in April 2017. After several E-Mail exchanges with Roxio/Corel technical support their representative took over control of my computer remotely and manager to download the program files and install the software. In September I was unable to create a DVD using Creator NXT 5 and again contacted their technical support organization. After several E-Mail exchanges (each taking at least one day) I was unable to resolve the issue. The last instructions I received told me to delete ALL Roxio/Corel/Sonic software from my computer and again try to reinstall Creator NXT 5 from the files left from April. After many tries this resulted in the installation software telling me I had tried to install too many times and terminated. As a result I purchased a new copy of Roxio Creator NXT 5 from Amazon. Unfortunately my computer would not recognize the disk supplied with the box. But I found if I used the product code for the new version with the software from April the install would proceed. Unfortunately during my haste to delete all Roxio/Corel/Sonic software I had inadvertently deleted the .MSI file need for installation. After again contacting technical support I was told I would receive a phone call at 10:00AM on Friday (29 September) and that the support engineer(?) would take control of my computer and get the software installed. I'm still waiting for that call. In the mean time I have reloaded Windows 10 on my computer and all the other software applications I normally use/need. When I tried to load Creator NXT 5 I met the same roadblock of the missing .MSI files. It was then I noticed an application file in the Creator NXT 5 directory labeled INSNTMSI. I ran this application and it reloaded all the missing .MSI files. I then ran the setup.exe application for Creator NXT 5 and it finally completed the installation. Wouldn't it have been so easy for the support engineer (?) to have told me about INSNTMSI.As a warning to other users/purchasers of software from Roxio/Corel/Sonic, be prepared to wait for days and days for communication with technical support if you need help. Even what you get may not be what you need or want to hear. If told that they will contact you, take it with a large grain of salt and say a prayer. You may or may not get that needed phone call.I've worked with computers for nearly sixty years and have seen every main-frame, mini-computer, and microprocessor that has been made. Dealing with this installation has been a first.

Well, I probably would like it if I could figure out how to use it. Looks like a great product but there are no learning guides or tutorials as far as I can see. I contacted support and I could only email. They said no tutorials but would create a ticket for a tech to get back to me. I heard they made tutorials for the 4, but not the 5 and they are not the same. I have no idea why a company would not show how to use their product.

Love my Roxio. Have used them for my JVC and phone videos for years. Easy to download videos and stills. I have a different program I use for my photo editing. But this makes nice slide shows. Can add music. Roxio seems to go out on me every year or two, so I upgrade, which is usually somewhat reasonable.

It does the job.

I was told by a sales clerk at a local specialty store this was the software I needed because it would do everything I needed done. I was excited to receive it. I loaded the software disk to install it. I receive the 'invalid key code' error. The disk looks like it has been used before but I ordered 'new' and it was a new package. I tried calling tech support. No help. I have wasted so much time and energy trying to find a program that would work! Very disappointed!
