Lucky for me, I have 4 dogs and I know they love that stinky smell but we won't go there. A good method is first brush your dog's fur to get the loose hairs before even bathing them. Then use a a degreasing shampoo is the best way to get heavy smells out of the coat, let the suds really soak into their fur a few minutes and give a good rinse and then brush your dog's hair again outside to get the remaining loose hairs from the bathing, this should help.

Q: Lost the wrapper on the bottle for the refill. bottle is still usable! how much water do i need to fill this jug (as now i don't have a 'fill line' )?

about 2/3 is about right - fill line not very obvious - 2/3 is about where they are on my plastic jars - note that copious amounts of rain may raise the water level quite a bit

Q: Can chickens eat flies that have been caught in this trap?

The flies are trapped in the water with the dissolved bait/poison(? I'm guessing there is some poison but haven't read the bait package contents) I would feed any chickens files killed with poison. However, there is a granular poison one can buy (like Feed&Seed/Farm supply) stores that is scattered where flies congregate - like the floor of a chicken house. Files trapped tend to rot in the water and add to the stench of the bait - I leave mine out for 20-30 days and then empty/refill with another dose of bait. There are single use plastic bag traps which when filled one just tosses in trash. The things really work well!
