I bought 2 portable security locks but the gap between the door and the frame is too narrow to fit more than a sheet of paper. This door stopper was more expensive than the others but it’s well worth it for safety and security. It installs and uninstalls quickly and it’s padded so it won’t damage the floor. It is pretty heavy and well made, and I can take it with me when I travel.

I purchased it for an upcoming trip but I tested it out at home on different types of flooring and it holds the door tightly closed. I expect it to work well on my trip. Easy to use. Perfect size for traveling. Well made.

My small grand kids would open the front door with out knowing whos there i was afraid they would open the door for the wrong person so I purchased this they can't open the doors with this on it

Works great! Slides under my door with ease. I have a big space under my door which is needed. This works better than other items I’ve used to keep the door from being opened.This one has a rubber bottom. So it grips the floor and won’t slide.

Kinda of works, gotta tighten it down pretty good so it doesn’t slide easily on tile…but does give anyway. It wouldn’t stop an intruder but it would slow them down and make it noisier.

I travel frequently for business (typically 70+ nights each year). I wanted to increase my security in hotel rooms. This unit works in most hotel doors. Occasionally, the bottom gap is too tight and I have to use another method, like the clothes hanger tricks I have seen, or even just hanging a hand towel over the security latch.I've tried the thin metal units that go between the door latch and strike plate and have a roughly triangular metal piece that hook into them, as well as the "butterfly" unit that hooks into the strike plate.Some hotel doors are too tightly fitted for even the first type to work, and I have never been able to successfully get the "butterfly" units to work more than a couple of times.
