Can watch old tapes again!
A must if you have older tapes! I purchased this because I wanted to watch old family movies that I haven’t seen in decades.

Great product
Works great. Absolute must for viewing vhs-c tapes. Used it as part of materials needed to convert tapes to digital.

Works well, but some instructions would be helpful
This VHS-C to VHS adapter came with absolutely no instructions of any kind. However, it works well, but because there were no instructions included, it took a while to figure out that the AA 1.5V battery was needed to even get the cartridge door to open. Once we did that, our old VHS-C tape cartridge fit in easily, and the motorized adapter wound the tape into its spools correctly. The adapter was very noisy while rewinding the tape, which was a bit unnerving, but it did so successfully and we were able to watch the video content on our VHS player. The picture quality was better than I expected, but that will vary between tapes.

Item will not work with any tapes
I have a few older VHS-C tapes I wanted to convert and bought this product to play them. I have a Panasonic VCR PV-8661 that I just used to copy over all of my even older VHS videos. First off the adapter was wonky when I tried to place a VHS-C tape into the box it wouldnt close. I fiddled with this for a bit and finally got it closed. Then it wouldnt open, again having to fiddle with it to get it open. I figured out that the plastic protector on the tape side was getting stuck in the Adapter and I had to bend it to get it in and out.Once I figured this out I could put all of my tapes in and out of the item BUT the Adapter will not stay in the VCR. It keeps getting rejected like a drunk college kid with no money in the red light district.I could see that the Adapter did indeed stretch the tape out into the Full VHS Position, so it appeared to correctly load the tape but still would not stay in the VCR.Basically the Adapter is useless and I was really worried (still am) that it damaged the tapes.Do Not Buy This Product!

Works good
I purchased this because I lost the other adapter I had used for my VHS tapes, lost it in a move to a new apt. This one arrived quickly, in good shape, not damaged or anything. Works fine. Have used it for numerous VHS tapes since receiving it. It requires one AA battery (not included). Keep in mind with these adapters that if the AA battery you insert is not brand new, then the adapter might act or sound slow, it works based on how good the battery is so if you notice it acting this way it more than likely is the battery running out of juice. I placed an older AA battery in it which I had lying around & it's a bit slow so I need to buy a new package of AA batteries, this is common with ALL VHS adapters. Aside from that it was slightly overpriced but I needed it badly as I'm converting all of my VHS to digital. When I first bought my small JVC camera in the late 80s it came with one of these adapters, they cna last a very long time if taken care of properly. The door for the tape is fragile but yrs ago I was able to still use it even if the small door was broken off. So far satisfied with this purchase.

No instructions
This does not come with instructions of any kind. It did come wrapped, brand new.It requires a single AA battery to open the tape door. There's a small slider with an arrow that opens the tape door when slid into position. This will not operate without the battery, fyi!But once in the VCR, it works as it should! Noisy rewind that concerned me, but it hasn't eaten any tapes yet and I've been through 3.It was spendy but I'm glad I got it.

Works, no issues
Recently converted all my dads old VHS tapes from when the kids were younger. It's hard to find anything to play VHS these days.
