Quick drying and very adhesive

I rarely write reviews, but this stuff is brilliant! I needed to secure an indicator on my car (the main securing point had broken) and used this stuff to effectively link and glue together two plastic joins. It's set rock hard and won't be going anywhere soon! It took about 15 minutes to dry, and then cured within a couple of hours. Easy to use, good value and very adhesive - recommended!

Almost Good

I bought this to patch up a broken shower waste pipe and there is now a drip rather than deluge of suds.It mixes easily but is quite messy to use and there's a limited window before it will start sticking to itself on your fingers so keep a rag nearby to clean your hands.Once smoothed out it sets quickly and will harden overnight. I used some cableties to keep it in place. Not the perfect solution, but good enough until the pipe can be replaced.

Huge Fail (unfortunately)

I used it on a plastic model kit 5 days ago and it's not set and far from cured. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking for putty that doesn't dry. Also I had to destroy the plastic tube it came in to get it out because it was stuck to the inside.

My repair failed...

I wanted to repair a pinhole leak in a Spear & Jackson weedkiller sprayer - the kind that gets pumped up to pressure. Sadly the repair failed immediately. I had caked quite a lot of this stuff onto the leak area, I mixed it up thoroughly, I pounded it down, it set - rock hard... I left it even longer to fully cure... and then filled the container with water. All good. I then started to pump to pressurise it and within seconds liquid was jetting out again. The title of this review is deliberately "my repair failed"... because I accept it might be something I didn't do right. But the takeaway point is that it didn't work for me - the liquid seemed to find its way out underneath the hardened putty and then just exited in a slightly different location. I am now debating whether to give it a second go... but soon I'll have a container that is more putty than container!

Really does the job

My son had broken the indicators off his scooter and badly damaged the small plastic mudguard in doing so actually breaking a piece off on one side. Having tried to tape it in place for a few months I decided it needed a proper repair. After a bit of research as to the best adhesives for plastic I came across this product from JB....The tube arrived and was smaller than I had imagined but it is actually quite a lot once removed and activated by kneading. Important piece of info is to ensure you prepare the area and edges to be bonded. I scuffed mine with an emery wheel and chamfered the edges so that these was a surface to adhere to. From here it was a case of cutting off the amount of putty you need, knead it for a minute or so to mix it altogether (inside the putty is the hardener so kneading it activates it) and then apply it as you would poly-filler, albeit is a bit thicker and requires moulding into shape by hand. Once left for the suggested period of time it was very easy to shape using sandpaper and I have since painted using a primer and it is now waiting for the top coat. I am impressed how strong the bond is and have applied a fair degree of force to test. Of course the real test will be to see if it lasts in actual operation once back on the road but compared to other products this really does look like it has done the job.

Used for interior car door handle repair job

I bought this for my husband to repair the interior car door handle on the driver side. The part he needed was hard to find and to take the car to be repaired would cost hundreds, this was decided on as a temporary solution.Next day delivery, inexpensive and easy to use, we can’t complain. It says you need protective gloves and clothes (but how much less are you going to make?). He tried gloves but it was easier to use bare handed - be quick to wash the putty off afterwards. He just kneaded the putty and smoothed a very small amount over the cracked plastic and held the handle in place for a couple of minutes. It cured after about 20 minutes.A few days of use in and out the car and the handle seems to be holding up. We may not need to get the spare part after all.
