Weatherstripping 1/4"W x 1/8"T, Foam Seal Strip for Window Door, Adhesive Foam Insulation Tape Reduce Noise Dust Cold Air, 16FT Each x 3 Rolls, Black

I used this 1/4" wide x 1/8" thick tape around three sides of the jamb of my existing hollow core door which opens into my dedicated theater (and entrance into my basement mancave), as well as some 1/4" wide x 1/16" thick tape, as different planes required different thicknesses. The door had a bunch of gaps all the way around it, so not only would sound make it through those points of least resistance, but the door would also rattle while latched close when heavy bass scenes/music would play. I also put some cheap draft stoppers on the front and back of the door to help, and they all worked very well to limit high frequency sound from escaping. Total spent on all of the tape and draft stoppers was only about $30. This was just a cheap upgrade until I decide upon a solid core door (~$500 + labor [although I'll do it myself]) to replace the hollow core door. But, even with the solid core door I already installed going into my dedicated media equipment closet, I still used foam tape like this to seal around the jamb, as the closet has it's own air conditioner to keep everything cool, and I didn't want the cold air escaping or dust getting into the closet.

Nothing too crazy to write here. We bought this to line the door frame where we had installed screen doors. It definitely helps to keep the screen door from making a “slam” sound when it swings shut. It’s sticking and holding up well. All in all a good product.

This thing does its job, and has been fine in the 2 months it's been installed. The package says to only apply it between a temperature range (not too hot / cold). I also sanded down the surface for loose paint between applying it. Sticks just fine, even to some metal.This is designed to fit against the door in the doorframe lip. It doesn't flex much, so be sure to measure the gap to ensure there is enough room.

Stopped all light air noise smell from my bedroom door to kitchen. Perfect easy to install. Now can sleep anytime in room without hearing noise smell detergent food etc from next room. Light on at night. I got the bottom air dam rubber piece also separate product.
