Brilliant book
So inspiring, full of encouragement and all conveyed with great hilarity. Very down to earth. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to kick the booze!

Rings so true, inspirational support.
Funny and moving and so true. A great support as well when giving up alcohol while reading something that resonates so well and rings so true. The honesty is brave and I’m sure it has helped many women maintain their journey to sobriety as well as support those who are struggling through a journey with cancer, as seems to have been the intention. Inspiring and full of humour.

life changing
Clare’s book has supported me , on most mornings through my first 20 days of sobriety and I could not be more grateful. At 7ish I’ve read a little bit to set me up for a sober day and so far I’m doing it . Her insights and wisdom are really helpful to me and I’ll probably re read it when I hit the ‘ wall ‘ ( I’m still in the happier euphoric stage ) Than you Clare for your honesty , humour and candid retelling of your first sober year . You’ve even inspired me to start a blog ! Fabulous 10/10 book and highly recommended.

I had to buy it again on Kindle as point size of print way too small
Fantastic book full of inspiring insights, humour, anguish and wisdom.

Brilliant, funny, honest - the best ‘quit-lit’ on the market.
I was luck enough to stumble across Clare during her interview on Radio 4. I warmed to her straight away and immediately bought this book - which I couldn’t put down and didn’t want it to end. (I’ve just started it again but have been referring back to it endlessly). She writes honestly and really opens up on all aspects of her life (but with humour too), which makes her even more likeable. Clare has also really done her research, this isn’t just a memoir - it is packed full of scientific facts and figures. Most of which are scary reading for those of us who partake in alcohol on any level! But she has put it out there and is educating thousands of people on the toil only small amounts of alcohol can have on your body. She’s not a killjoy though, she’s not bitter that other people can drink and she chooses not to. Instead she has taken sober life by the horns and shown people how liberating life without alcohol can be!Because of this book and her brilliant blog (Mummy was a secret drinker), Clare is reaching out to thousands of people and making genuine changes to their lives forever.I have since read more ‘quit-lit’ and without a doubt this is the best out there. I have raved about it to anyone who will listen and would recommend it to everyone - not just my Mummy friends.Well done Clare (and thank you) we cannot wait for part 2 - what happened next!

The Friend I needed to hear from
I absolutely adored this book. Clare’s (I feel like we are on a first name basis now) writing is witty, fun, honest and vulnerable and everything a woman needs as she explores her own relationship with alcohol. I will definitely be reading it again and am forever grateful for her bravery, her imagery of being a badass like Khalessi, (who would not be seen with a glass in hand because there is ruling to be done, unlike her counterpart) and the awful wine witch.Thank you for sharing your talents and experiences with us.

You are actually missing what you think you are winning. 23, almost 24 days, and never looking back. Thank you, Clare.

Tolles Buch - Inspirierend
Das Buch bietet eine tolle Mischung aus persönlichen Erfahrungen, einer gut erzählten Geschichte und medizinischen Fakten, die einem zu denken geben. Es ist so wichtig, dass solche Themen offener besprochen werden.
