Good original part
Will see how long it lasts as last one was only a few years.

Easy to fit and returned shower performance as new
Thermostatic shower stopped working (only tepid water). Replacement of cartridge was easy - simply turn off the water supply, undo the nut and pop it in (see youtube videos). I found it essential to have the right size box spanner though but still the job came in under £100. Much less than a plumber (not that I could find one who was interested in such a small job).

Perfect replacement for old faulty valve
I have a Grohe Euphoria 180 shower system and noticed a slight hissing sound coming from the shower bar, over time it worsened and began to notice the temperature of the water was lower than it was at the 38 degree setting. I opened up and removed the thermostatic valve from the bar and cleaned by soaking it in vinegar to remove limescale and tried adjusting the temperature. This didn't cure the problem. After searching local plumbing shops and online I ordered the replacement part from Amazon and fitted with and all is well again. Hissing sound gone and temperature back to normal. Amazon was far cheaper than anywhere else.Replacing was simple, removed the plastic cover at the end of the shower bar with a small flat screwdriver, used an adjustable wrench to loosen the large nut around the valve, removed the valve with a little bit of force, used a small amount of silicone grease on the seals of the new valve and popped in, tightened nut and cover back on and all done within 10 minutes.Just a note, If your shower is less than 5 years old you could be covered by the 5 year Grohe warranty so maybe checking with them first.

Beware the retaining ring!
There is nothing wrong with this good quality product but the following might help someone else avoid the mistakes I made. First, check the strainers. I put poor hot water flow down to a failing thermostat. In fact, I now know the hot supply strainer was full of scale debris. I removed as gently as I could the cartridge retaining ring with a pair of water pump pliers as I didn't want to cough up what Grohe was asking for their proprietary tool. This was a bad move as the fragile ring distorted slightly and I then couldn't get the fine thread started to reinstall it. So, if you're doing this job, you will need to have either a good quality flat or ring spanner, or the Grohe tool. (The ring, if you mess it up, costs around 30 GBP)

Saved me so much money vs plumber
It saved me so much money compared to do it myself with this component vs what the plumber had quoted. It wasn't hard although grohe's instructions weren't super precise and i had to figure out a couple of things on my own. Very happy that the spare parts for grohe are readily available and well coded for easy matching.

Much better shower temperature
Old mixer was slowly failing, putting this in place made it a hot to shower again - back to new.Did require the expensive Grohe tool, but job only took a DIY hour, worthwhile and cheaper than getting in a plumber.
