Newport 12V50Ah Deep Cycle Heavy-Duty Marine Battery, Lightweight & Sealed AGM, Trolling Motor Compatible

As someone who uses a trolling motor regularly for fishing trips, I’ve gone through my fair share of marine batteries. This Newport 12V 50Ah Deep Cycle battery impressed me right out of the box. First, it’s much lighter than traditional AGM or lead-acid batteries I’ve used before easy enough to carry with one hand, which makes loading and unloading from my boat or vehicle much less of a hassle.Performance-wise, this battery delivers steady, consistent power. I ran it on a Newport 55lb thrust trolling motor and got a solid 4+ hours on moderate speeds with some bursts at higher throttle. Voltage remained stable the whole time, which means the battery didn’t sag under load like some cheaper options tend to do.Build quality also seems solid tight casing, clean terminals, and no noticeable heat build-up during extended use. It’s sealed and maintenance-free, which is a must for anyone who doesn’t want to deal with checking water levels or corrosion issues.One small point to note: there’s no built-in charge level indicator. I solved this by adding an external voltage meter, but it’s something to keep in mind if you like having that convenience.Overall, this battery strikes a great balance between weight, capacity, and price. It’s not the cheapest out there, but the portability and reliability make it a solid investment for serious boaters, kayak anglers, or even off-grid solar setups. Highly recommended.

Good battery. Functions very well. Very durable. Easy to install. Not that heavy.

This is a HEAVY battery, so be aware of that, it is also a pretty good one, I ran my trolling motor for three days without recharging it!

Wasn’t sure what to expect, they held a long charge. I ordered two for my 24volt trolling motor. There compact but work great.

I purchased this battery to power my small 18’ rowboat I use in the estuaries and sounds where I live. I was able to tootle around for 6 hours and still had more than half battery remaining. It’s a great value for the money. It is lightweight and small to carry back and forth from the garage to the car and boat and back. It provided sufficient power for my small motor.

Works well, ran a 40lb trolling motor for about 6 hours of normal fishing and still had 2 bars based on the Newport battery box

I was very excited to buy this battery after reading all of the views. That excitment quickly turned to disappoint after receiving the battery and attempting to use it for the first time. When charging the battery the battery gets very warm and ultimately does not fully charge, I have several agm batteries on various other boats, rv's etc and this one unfortunately is a dud. The battery looses charge excessively fast when pared with recommended northport trolling motor. Customer service refuses any refund or product support. As part of this order I also ordered their kyacktrolling motor and their fancy battery box. After much frustration with the company as a whole, I sent back the trolling motor and the battery box due to Amazon's great return policy however I'm stuck with a bad battery!My biggest regret is that I belived the reviews. I really which that that would have just purchased the minn kota trolling motor and the LiTime smart battery which is what 90% of the inshore anglers use down here in FL to convert their Canoes, kyacks and sup's for backwater flats fishing.

While I purchased this battery for use with a 10 foot john boat which allowed prolonged use with warning indicators for depleted charge, I have on occasion used this battery to supplement phone and computer extended usage during storm outages here in the midwest.
