A Hassle To Install... But Worth It!
As this dashcam is needs to be hardwired in, a professional may need to install it, so that extra cost is something to keep in mind when considering this dash cam. Luckily for me my dad is a sparky, and likes to tinker with cars, so I didn't have to pay anyone to hardwire the dashcam in for me.Once installed, the small dash cam is unnoticeable when driving. The 170° wide angle gives the camera great coverage, and the picture quality is great. Number plates and signs can be seen easily, so I have no complaints with the camera quality. The dash cam works by recording in loops, meaning older videos are overwritten with new videos constantly, so you only have a couple of days to get any footage off the camera if you always have it on. This has its upsides and downsides, as you don't have to clear the memory card as often, but you do risk loosing footage if you need it a week or so later. There is also an app that accompanies the dash cam, which is fantastic. The app is very easy to navigate, and the features it enables you to access are brilliant. For example, I like that you can access the live feed of the camera from the app.Overall, the dash cam is a bit of a hassle to install, but I think it's well worth it. It's a quality bit of kit, and I'm very impressed with it, so I would recommend!

Poor build quality
Good price compared to some however quality is poor. When trying to connect on app it turns off wifi in about 5 seconds. Build quality of camera is poor as it rattles annoyingly on any road that’s not totally smooth. After several messages back and forth with supplier their response was they would submit feedback to the factory

Tricky to install, easy to use
It's important to note that this is a hardwired dashcam, so it needs professional or expert installation. You can't just plug it into the lighter socket like other dashcams. By the same token however, you are not going to get as good quality dashcam as you get here for the price. The dashcam itself is beautifully designed and neatly sized. The 3K image quality is superb, showing excellent detail and handling all light conditions well. Like most dashcams, it uses a loop recording to save space, so every 72 hours the previous footage will be written over. if you need to keep a record however, you can copy the footage you need off the camera. The app makes reviewing footage and feed easy to manage.

I had to admit defeat
Hands up, when ordering this I was not aware that it was a dashcam that requires hardwiring. My old dash cam simply plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, simple plug n play. With a hardwired cam there's no need to keep remembering to plug it in or having to return back to the house because you've forgotten it. So I had ago at installation myself. Honestly how hard can it be... It was then I discovered that my car has more than one fuse box and I could not tell what was free unused socket and what wasn't.Having scratched my head, I called up Halfords and asked if they would install it for me. £30 installation, receipt clearly stating customer supplied dashcam, installation. I was also able to pick up some in car cable clips that were not supplied in the pack.OK, the camera is great it will record 24/7 for around 72 hours before it begins to record back over itself. You can simply either download the files or using the camera you can review and clip a segment marking it and storing it so that it wont ever be over written.I like that the camera is incredibly easy to use, it sits there always recording although you can turn it off at anytime you want.I'd highly recommend it, just be mindful that its likely to cost a professional to install.

Quoted £150 to fit it
As there was no instructions, I took this to my regular mechanic to see about getting it installed and he quoted me £150 to because he would have to test out all the wiring to see if the wires were heavy enough to run it without overloading the system which could cause a fire, my old one plugged into the 12v outlet and ran without any problems until it didn’t work any more. I did connect it up to a 12v battery and after lots of try’s to connect to my iPad I finally got connected to find a picture less than a quarter the size of the screen in the middle of the screen which I couldn’t enlarge. In the box there is so many wires and no explanation what they are all for, I am assuming they are for different cars and a memory card is also needed which I fortunately already had one from my old one. I’m at a loss to test this camera at its full potential as I’m not confident enough to install it

Good car camera but keep in mind additional installation costs
As someone who has only ever tested 1080p and 2K cameras I was moderately happy with the 3K image this produced. It wasn’t quite the jump you see with TV screens or phone cameras, but a noticeable one nonetheless and a clearer image for peace of mind. With this camera you not only have the improved image, but it also comes with several safety features such as a parking monitor so you can be assured your camera is working when you are not inside. I was also happy with the 170 ° wide angle for improved viewing which helps ensure no footage is missed directly in the front view. For a 3K resolution camera the value is OK, although unless you are confident with your cars electronics you will need to take it to a professional to this for you as it is not as easy to install as others I’ve tested. For this reason it is hard to highly recommend to most as once you factor in this additional cost you could very easily find yourself playing more than the cost of the camera.
