Works very well with Linux distributions

This is now installed in a HP Elite 8300 to act as a gateway/router between two networks and the Internet (1Gbit/FTTP)The operating system is Linux Centos 7.After installing the card, both NIC's were detected by Centos 7 and do not need any additional drivers to work. To check out performance, both Ethernet ports on the card were simultaneously hit with 1Gbit/s data transfers through the system across to the other network, the file transfers ran at the full capacity of the 1Gbit capability of both the NIC and the Switch (layer 3 smart switch) they are connected into. The system is now running 24x7

Excellent straight our of the box.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this as a last ditch attempt to sort out my full fibre speeds via ethernet Cat7 cable into my pc. Prior to this, via my Realtek PCIe network card, I could only manage 95Mps download speed, when my actual paid service is for 300Mps. Gaming was becoming an issue with latency, and when installing off Steam, the best I could hope for was 11Mps.Saw this card on Amazon - with help from asking Chat GPT as to what recommendations I should be looking at as a replacement - and it arrived this morning.Fitting was a breeze - it came with two brackets, one for laptop and one for PC. It was a simple matter off one card out, the Intel card in, power up, and bingo! Connected immediately without requiring any software driver download. On my speed test, as you can see, it hits 310Mps quite happily. No more download issues, thanks to this network card by Intel. A word of caution regarding fitting - make sure you remove the power cable from your machine, once that is done, press the power button on your pc a couple of times. This ensures any residual current left in the pc is spent, so no nasty little shocks. Earthing yourself during the fitting process is also another good idea - just in case.In short, an excellent purchase that has solved a niggly issue that even my ISP tech support didn't suggest. Highly recommended.

Pfsense Ok

I bought this for my pfsense. So far, it works. I insert this to my old pc. Pfsense recognizes it. Well packaged. I paired it with a managed switch. No problem setting up VLan.

Ideal for small server

Great card, dropped straight into an HP desktop that was being turned into a simple Linux server. Device drivers were part of the Linux core and all working as expected. Great purchase.

Product discontinued by Intel; does not appear in UEFI

Despite manufacturer being misleadingly named 10GTek, this is a 1 Gigabit device. This was my mistake in purchasing it. It still has other flaws. It does appears functional in both Linux and Windows, and Intel's BootUtil device sees it and seems to allow uploading flashing a new option ROM. I was able to upload both PXE and UEFI and a combo image. However, uploading the UEFI image did not help: on both my Intel Gigabyte Z97 and my AMD Asus X670-E boards, the device is completely invisible in UEFI: no status, no configurability, no netbooting, even after flashing the new bootrom. It's visible to OSes directly on board and over Thunderbolt, but at no point is it visible in UEFI. It does start PXE using the "old BIOS" / with CSM enabled, but without further needs, CSM is best left off in 2024. There's a chance I could somehow tell my machines' UEFI to load a UEFI driver, but that's what the device itself is sort-of supposed to provide. I'm sure I'll eventually find some use for the device given it has two ports, but right now, it has no home in any of my hardware.

Good compatibility

Very good compatibility with older linux kernels, two ports is nice.

Nice Network card

Work straight out the box. Installed into VMware 6.0 Hypervisor box and pick up straight away. performance of network traffic speeds is superb - so far so goof after couple of weeks. Would by again. Thanks.

Great card. Weird driver issue?

Works great, does everything I need. The only minor problem for me? None of the driver packages recognise the card, even the ones on the including CD. Weirdly, windows 10 knew what it was and just got on with it. Something odd going on there...Otherwise though, spot on.
