Yes Sir!!! (Read in Vern Lundquist voice)
Having a pro-looking swing, I needed an accurate, quality built rangefinder, having an amateur income, I needed an affordable one. The truth is I don't have a good swing, but I hit the ball decently from time to time, so knowing how far my misses are is crucial. I bought this one based on other reviews, and man, 5 stars are too little, and I don't give away stars so easily (I gave Dark side of the moon 4 stars and Moving Pictures 3 1/2, so you can get an idea of how demanding I can be). Anyway, I've never heard about TecTecTec before, and since it's way more affordable than Bushnell and other brands, i was afraid that the quality wouldn't be there, but hey, as long as it gave me the right measurements... but I was wrong, it is indeed nicely built. I couldn't tell you about the electronics, since i don't know a thing about those. What i can tell you is that it feels solid, ergonomic and you just push the little button and the distance (in yards or meters) appears instantly. Instantly meaning zero NYC nanoseconds flat! I first tried it in a place full of trees, aimed to one after the other, and it never failed. Then i took it to the d-range and realized that I can hit my seven iron anywhere from 140 to 167 yds (talk about an inconsistent swing). Then I measured the distance to a water hydrant a couple of blocks away from my driveway and now I know it's 297 yds away (if you were curious). The case is nice too, and has a yellow zipper, helpful to me since I keep leaving stuff behind at the cart. I've never owned a rangefinder before, so I can't give you a straight comparison against any other brands or models, all I can tell you is that you is that this TecTecTec VPro DLX is pretty neat. Since i live in S. Florida, I spent a few extra bucks and got the water resistant version. By the way, while I was measuring the distance to the water hydrant outside my house, drivers thought I was a cop so they all slowed down, which I see as a bonus feature not yet advertised by TecTecTec... good job guys!

Solid rangefinder for the money **UPDATED April 25, 2018**
**UPDATE** As a few people pointed out in questions/answers, the key with pinseeker mode is to hold the button down and get the pin in the crosshairs. You don't press/release the button and hope. You have to hold the button, and then it will lock in on the flag and show you the yardage. When I did this I was able to consistently get readings of flags at the range that were 225 yards and in. The flag at 260 yards was harder to get, but I could get it. The woods behind that flag are at 300 yards, and that was what it grabbed most of the time. As I mentioned, I'm not the steadiest hand, so if you are steadier than me, you'd probably get that 260-yard flag more off than not. Solid 4 stars now. Definitely a more economical choice than the Bushnell, and it performs just as well for the typical round or two a week, non-tourney golfer.I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could, but it's more 4 stars than 3. I used this for the first time on a course yesterday. I was comparing it to my friend's Bushnell Tour V4. First, the Bushnell is definitely more accurate and easier to use. Is it $200 more accurate and easier to use? I would say for the average golfer, no. He's a teaching pro and plays events all season. I'm a 13 handicapper playing twice a month, tops. I found it to work pretty well 150 yards and in. Outside of that, I had difficulty hitting the pin with consistency. I found it grabbing the trees behind the green far more than the pin. This could be me, and it could be the pins. They are standard pins, painted yellow with checkered flags. They don't have any reflective coating for rangefinders. I was able to get pins with some consistency if I shot the bottom the flag first, which maybe gave the rangefinder an early indication of where I was shooting next? Anyway, it works, it just took several clicks of the button to be confident in the reading. For choosing layup distances or seeing if you're 200-230 away, I will still rely on my GPS app. I may also not be the steadiest hand out there, which could affect my ability to hit the pin with the crosshairs. All in all, I think it's worth it for what I need it to do.

Great unit, comfortable in your hand and provides quick accurate yardage if you pan
I purchased this for my junior golfer and it is very accurate, within 2-4 yards of my much more expensive bushnell z6, had it two months now. The unit has two buttons on top, the closest to the eye is the laser finder and the front is a menu/setup button that you will rarely use. It has a pinseeker mode which helps identify the flag. I use this unit slightly different from my bushnell in that is is best to leave the laser on and pan left/right across the pin to identify the proper yardage. I originally tried placing the eye target on the flag and pressing the laser yardage button but that grew tiresome and is not near as fast as the hold and pan method. I have had no issues identifying targets with the laser including hazard markers, bunker lips, bushes and/or trees that I select target yardage for. This unit is the waterproof version and I would not bother with the non-waterproof model even if you don't play in the rain, as things get quite damp early in the morning and at dusk. I do prefer my bushnell red optics vs the gray indicators on this unit as the red is much easier to see in low light conditions. I have had no issues with this unit during most days including cloudy days, drizzle, and low light conditions. It is tough to see the indicators if you play into the dusk as we do sometimes. The zoom strength is a little stronger than my bushnell, which I like, but it is not quite as easy to focus the lens. It comes with a battery and is the same type as what is used in other laser finders CR2. The carrying case is similar to others clam shell secured with an elastic band, you will need to buy a carabiner if you want to clip it to your bag, as the case has a tab for the carabiner so buy one when you purchase the unit. Well worth the money and I would buy it again.
