Crow Call

Fast delivery and excellent book. My granddaughter loved it. Highly recommended. I ordered more books by the author as a result.

Crow Call will join the ranks of the Each-of-Our-Children-Must-Have-a-Copy-of-This books, that include such treasures as When Jessie Came Across the Sea, An Orange for Frankie, and The Yellow Star (an incident by the way which our son's Danish Grandmother-in-Law remembers and says IS a true story). My sisters will also be touched by the copies I am giving them at Christmas, as we lost our "war dad" in the springtime. A beautiful book for both the eyes and the soul!

A beautiful memoir from Lois Lowery. The pictures are truly gorgeous. This is a touching story about the a father back from war with a daughter who is uneasy about a hunting experience with a "stranger."

I thought the drawings were lovely and the story quite touching in this brief vignette about a morning between father and daughter.

Wonderful story. Wonderful illustrations! The muted colors were amazing in adding to the mood and beautifully done. I have very much enjoyed Lois Lowry as an author before and she doesn't disappoint in this book either. Well worth the read.

Wonderful tale/semi autobiographical about her and her father...great intro duction for me for my high schoolers into the WWII unit we will be doing soon.

Wunderschön und einfühlsam von Bagram Ibatoulline illustriertes Buch über ein kleines Mädchen, das mit seinem Vater auf Krähenjagd geht. Mehr möchte ich eigentlich gar nicht verraten. Das Buch hat völlig zu Recht die Newbery Medal gewonnen. Selten habe ich so ein stimmiges, bewegendes Bilderbuch gelesen und angeschaut. Sicher kein Zufall, dass Andrew Wyeth der Lieblingsmaler des Illustrators ist.
