The Challenge Fights of Grandmaster Ciriaco "Cacoy" Canete: The Greatest Living Eskrimador

Sensational book
Interesting book but at times a bit sensationalist . I think this is a true master but sometimes sparring matches may be represented as something a bit more than they actually were according to some of my friends in the philipinnes.

but this reads like a long puff piece in Black Belt magazine
If one wants a light read on what passes for "challenge" or "death matches", it's okay. Hardly a serious piece of history and doesn't add much to the story of FMA. No offense intended to Mr. Meadows, but this reads like a long puff piece in Black Belt magazine.

Great book... About a life of a Real Eskrimador Fighter

It's more of the grandmaster's backstory than his own tweak on the Doce Pares system.

Inspiring and helpful.
As a new practitioner of Eskrima the stories of Grandmaster Canete were very inspiring. It was also very helpful in beginning to retraining my from my fencing training to the Eskrima mindset.

Boring and badly written from start to finish
Pure rubbish. Boring and badly written from start to finish, I gave my copy to a charity book shop. I think it's still in their book section now for 50p
