Simple and accurate!
I own a fancy version of a studfinder that has failed me all too many times. Got sick and tired of patching holes in my drywall where there were no studs. This works perfectly, is a fraction of the cost of the fancy battery operated ones, and I love how it stays on the wall once a nail/screw in a stud is found! Bonus: easy to find in my tool bag, since the magnet sticks to almost everything! 🤣 Proves to me once again that keeping things simple can be a beautiful thing. Happy customer.

How I learned that my walls are plaster
Not just a stud finder, also a great way to discover you have plaster walls! (And if you weren’t aware, stud finders are basically useless on plaster)

Don't try on anything except 1/2" drywall.
Works on 1/2" drywall only.

Strong magnet.
Strong magnet! I have drywall over furring strips on concrete block walls. There is no question when this magnet picks up a drywall screw. Glad I purchased it.

Will Not Work on Plaster Walls
I have to return these and I am SAD!!! I knew the reviews were good; but info needs to be shared that if you have plaster walls (and mine are likely plaster/lath), these stud finders won’t work. I found other metal couplings (or whatever) near door jams, but it could not find the studs. Tried for over 30 min, and slid them over the entire wall. Nothing. Magnets are not strong enough to detect nail heads through plaster/lath. So while I think they are likely very good for normal carpentry, probably not the best if you have plaster walls.
