Good cards! Totally recommend it if you often play with 4 or more people. Another family which is a must if playing with 5 or 6 people. Also adds more new cards, and the new cards often make use of the pictures on the right sides of the cards (the circles that are sometimes there with a cup, skull, bat, etc. symbol), and death cards usually have effects tied to them. The additional cards help keep the game fresh and new. Only critique is that the new rules and new types of cards often do not factor into the game, and in some games played the new cards and rules really were not played; having said this the new cards do make the game more interesting.

This is the most amazing game! The stories that you can come up with the describe the cards you use are hilarious! This is the perfect dark sarcastic game to play for any lovers of creepy satirical fun! The cards are clear with parts organized into layering information that can be quickly recognized and used during game play. The instructions are super simple and easy to follow. It's also customizable to house rules. Getting the extra packs add so much fun to the base game I honestly recommend getting every single one of them.

My family and I enjoyed playing the base game during holidays and other family gatherings. We enjoyed developing the stories as we played the cards. Art is wonderful and the concept is fun with the unique game mechanics.

My friends and I love Gloom and this is our favorite expansion. This expansion contains another family set, so it increases total players to 5. The new Homes cards add fun/an extra element to the game for more ways to help yourself or hinder your opponents. It also comes with more gloomy mishaps for modifier and event cards. If you are looking for an expansion to Gloom, I recommend this one.

In happy homes is a good improvement to a fun game, I perfer the unwelcome guests as far as a new mechanic added to the game but the houses are fun I enjoy the new family and the additional cards as variety.

This is probably my favorite card game that I own, and I own a lot of games. It is completely original. I didn't think I'd be very good at making up a story line that goes along with the actions played, but its easier than you'd think and the end result is usually hilarious. I have already bought three of the expansions and I'm working on getting the fourth as soon as the price goes back down. I'd definitely recommend this game!

Gloom is a spectacular storytelling/strategy game; if you’re looking to add more to the base game, start with this expansion. It adds a new family, and residence cards for each family, which can be layered with new unique modifiers. It allows for a more well-rounded Gloom experience, in my opinion. A must-have!
