sow cooker vs crock pot
Easy and light weight to use. Gave my crock pot away. Plus makes cheese sandwiches perfect, something the crock couldn't do.

Power House!
This cooker is great: it's a grill (remove the top pan), and a slow cooker. I often throw 3-4 sweet potatoes into it and 3 hours later, they are done. We've made chili and soup in it as well. We love it. This would be great in a camper, as it is multi use.

Tefflon came off pan. Had to throw pot and food in garbage.
First time I used this newer in box but vintage cooker the tefflon coating came all loose and got in to the food. It was an older cooker but I never expected the teflon to come completely off. I had to throw the entire crock pot in the garbage for fear of contamination and food poisioning. NOT A GOOD SALE

Love it.
I brought this from overseas because I like this so much better than the other type crockpot. You can cook in the pot on your stove top and then transfer it to the heating element.

I am pleased with it for the price I paid.
I use this to transport food to a church fellowship where we contribute and share a meal. I can turn it on to heat cold food or keep hot food hot. The temperature control is Manual but works fine. The plastic lid for travel works well. There is a supplied case that is somewhat insulated for protection and travel that does a good job. The pot is good for at least 6 quarts of food. I have used the warmer to thaw and heat frozen food. It is pretty fast. It stores well in the case This is a good set up. I would buy it again.

Not fit for human consumption
This slow cooker has a problem with the coating on the inside of the cooking pot and has had for a few years.. I am on my second one which i bought because i really liked the first one but the bubbled up coating I though had become unsafe for food preparation. Surely I thought the problem was fixed or maybe I'd luck out and get one that wasn't defective---no such luck. This one did not waste any time bubbling. Maybe after the second or third use. Read these reviews and read the summary at the beginning of the reviews under the heading "what reviewers say" or something like that. Save your energy, frustrations, money and time and buy something besides a West Bend

Great Versatility!
This is my third West Bend cooker in 40 years and I LOVE it! After I wore out my second one after many years of use I decided I would get a regular Crockpot because I had never had one. What a big mistake! I really missed being able to brown my meat and vegetables in one pot like the slow cooker. So I got a new Slow Cooker and I have found out I can use the pot on the stove to cook bacon and it does not spatter my stove because of the high sides on the removable pot. And I love that I can control the temperature better than I could with the crock pot when slow cooking. I will never go back to regular crock pot again. Some people have mentioned a clicking noise when using, it is just the temperature maintaining itself, and the nonstick surface of the pot is extremely durable, and the out side of the pot very thick and substantial. Very well made, should last for years. I highly recommend!
