Yes, if you set it to stay with the white light. I have actually done this with light paper and dark enough ink.

Q: When we set the light to a single color at bedtime, the lamp is always off in the AM despite being fully charged. Is there a way around this?

This happens for me as well. I think that the light automatically turns off after a couple of hours because it wouldn't need to be on when you're asleep, so no I don't think there's any way around that

Q: does anyone have experience with whether this remote control version or the touch version holds up better?

So far, while the remote is a little wonky sometimes, I think it's a lot better with the remote.
