Tastes like alcohol, looks beautiful when you pour over ice along with grapefruit spindrift, lemon and mint. I love the fact that it's made with Monkfruit as I don't drink or eat sugar making it a wonderful guilt-free treat! Lastly, the bottle has a super cool, old timey hipster look so it fits in great with whatever else you have on the shelf. 5 stars!

This is so close to being amazing! It does make a nice "special" end-of-the-day non-alcoholic beverage mixed with seltzer and lemon or lime. However, I really dislike the monkfruit sweetener aftertaste. I don't like a lot of sweetness in my drinks, but real sugar would make me buy again. As it's formulated now I probably won't purchase again but I don't regret trying. If you don't mind artificial sweetener flavors you'll likely enjoy this.

First taste was good but then the bitterness set in and lingered. Tried it mixed with the DHOS Orange, which seemed to cut the bitterness, and tonic making an acceptable drink. Don't think I'd order again. Far prefer Free Spirits' The Spirit of Milano.

Not much bitter outside of tasting like drinking essential oils that leave a film on the tongue. Similar to a Theraflu or NyQuil texture.I’ve been testing NA alternatives whileI’m taking a break from alcohol, and was hoping to find this useable to make something Negroni-like. It is nothing like a Campari or Aperol.But, I have a whole bottle now, so maybe I can come up with some concoction to drown out the bad and accent the good, if it’s in there.

I like this Dhos bittersweet. The flavor is perfect for mixing with sparkling water. It's got a citrus flavor. The thickness is a good consistency as a mixer, alone on I've, or even poured over ice cream. Since I no longer drink alcohol, I feel like I can have my own special coctails with friends. The design of the bottle is also good.

On the nose DHOS Bittersweet smells of sweet rhubarb with a hint of orange. To taste it's strongly bitter, like Campari, with a lingering sweetness to it, but also the kind of after-bitter of artificial sweetener. Somewhat like DHOS Orange that is likely due to the monkfruit sweetener they use which as a bit of that aftertaste to it. It blends in but is still noticeable so something to be a tad wary of of that particular aftertaste bothers you. Personally I've never been fond of it but I intend to mix this. There is a bit of tartness to it with subtle rhubarb hints to the flavor. On ice the bitterness stands out even more (odd, as I usually expect the citrus to jump out more!) which places this pretty solidly into the bracingly bitter of something like Campari, indeed.The label suggests a spritz for this with just soda, I decided instead to go a bit more traditional using Lyre's Classico as a prosecco stand-in topping up with just a splash of soda. I will note here that I had to work a bit to cleanse my palate of the straight tasting above. That bitterness lingers a good while! So a few olives and some crackers later... I dis this around 1 part DHOS Bittersweet, 3 parts Lyre's Classico and just a splash of soda. The Classico tartness helps to cut into this somewhat helping give it a bit more of a citrus kick, but that bitter still kicks through a lot. Let me be clear on this, when it comes to bitter I'm all for the bitterness in, say, Aperol or Harmony's Alpine Digestif, but I've never been much of a fan of Campari's level of bitter. So for me even at this level of dilution it still comes on a bit strong for my taste. Maybe if I grew up in Italy I could enjoy this more (there is something to be said for training your palette, after all... heck I tend to like much spicier things than most folks but I suppose it took some time in my youth to work up to some of it to appreciate the flavors that used to be hidden behind the heat). And maybe as I drink more of the other apertif drinks out there I can get closer to appreciating this one, but as it stands now it masks too much of the flavor for my tastes, and the lingering "artificial sweetener" taste is a turn off here as well, even though it's not quite so bad in DHOS Orange, which is one I've recommended. I will be trying this a bit more, but in much smaller doses, I think, when I might want to add a bit more bitterness to something, but overall I fear doing so will completely drown out any of the rhubarb/orange notes that are in this if I do.

I was hoping for something that would make a faux aperol spritz during the summer while I am not drinking alcohol. It’s not a perfect match, but the flavor is different and interesting. I like it with seltzer and ice, or even with kombucha.

If you don't like monk fruit sweetener, you won't like this product. However, I think it's delicious. Very bitter in all the best ways! A great alternative to Campari in my mind. One star off for the artificial color, which I would like to see removed.
