Excellent for individual use

Very good, simple battery tester. This unit is temperature compensated and has separate testing capabilities to test a battery whether it is installed in the vehicle or disconnected. Tests separately for cranking amps and cold cranking amps. Provides state of charge status and charging recommendations. Provides state of health as well as replacement recommendation. As good or better than most commercial testers.

Very useful battery tester

I purchased this to test my 6-volt deep cycle batteries used on my RV. As things sometimes work out the day I received my tester my cars battery light came on. I have never seen this light up when driving and seeing how I replaced the alternator about a year ago I felt it might have been the battery going bad. I opened the hood to inspect the battery which is now 3 year and 2 months old. (2 months past the free replacement warranty period). I was about to pull out the battery and go purchase a new one when I remembered I had just purchased this fancy battery tester.I hooked up the tester which powers on as soon as it is connected to the battery. The first thing I see is the battery voltage which was reading low. (Now worried about the alternator not charging the battery) I ran the battery test. The menu is easy to follow, and the tester had me perform actions like turn on my headlights then turn them off so it could measure the drop in voltage. Anyways good news was the battery was fine as identified by the test tool.I cleaned the post and reconnected and started the car and now the light on the dash was off and after driving around for about 30-45 minutes (maybe longer) I retested and the voltage had climbed back up and the tester was no longer telling me the battery needed to be charged.I also tested my 2 6-volt batteries. both are reading a low charge and they need to be replaced. I'm running a full charge on them now to make sure they are floated then will retest. If the test tool continues to tell me they need to be replaced I will take them back into Batteries Plus to have them test. The reason for this is my Inverter will not power up and throws a low voltage alarm which has me thinking one of the two new 6 volt batteries are bad. The test tool is telling me they both are bad so will continue my testing and will hopefully update this review with my findings. At this point I'm very happy with this tester, it is easy to use and seems durable.

A must have for the DIYer!

This was the deciding factor in whether I should replace my battery or buy a battery charger. The battery in my BMW discharged beyond the point of being recharged by the car. The dealership quoted me at approximately $600 for a replacement. After doing research, I found that having it charged may be the fix. This tool confirmed it. I bought a charger, charged the battery, and I’ve had no issues whatsoever. The charger I used was a NOCO Genius 10 amp.

Does the Job

This battery tester works fine. It’s nothing fancy, and for the price it was a good purchase. It does what I need it to do and haven’t run into any issues with the limited number of times I’ve used it.

Compact - Easy to Use - Accurate

I'm very pleased with this FOXWELL BT100 Battery Analyzer so far. First it is smaller than the ones I use for work which is a plus to me as the smaller size makes it easier to carry, use, and store.Operating the battery analyzer is simple. The analyzer is powered by the battery you are checking, just connect the leads to a 12-volt battery and the LED backlit screen will light up showing the current voltage of the battery. To test the battery:*Press the "Enter" button and then use the arrow buttons to choose if the battery is "Out Of Vehicle" or "In Vehicle".*The select which type of battery it is "Regular Flooded", "AGM", or "Gel".*Select which battery standard to use. There are 8 choices, but "CA" (Cranking Amps) or CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) are two of the most common and usually shown on top of the battery. Now select the "Test" option. Once the test is complete you will get two screens of results.(see pics of screen shots)*Battery: Good Battery*Volts: 12.67 v*Measured: 802 MCA*Rated: 700 MCA*SOH: 96 %*SOC: 100 %*RES: 4.91 MR (Resistance - Measure Resistance)I've compared the results with a couple other battery testers and the results were very similar so it seems accurate. The only slight negative is I wish it came with a case, but for the price I paid I can provide my own.I hope this information helps. If something changes I will update this review.

Very intuitive even though the directions.....

are in Chinglish,...and BAD Chinglish at that but, as I said the keys on the front more or less show you how the tester is used. After one or two uses, you'll be very comfortable using it! I've tried several of these "cheapie" types of devices and while by no means is this that cheap, it is inexpensive enough that, you probably need it in your auto tool box kit. Nowadays, other than an oil or air filter change, autos are extremely complex and difficult to work on due to the MULTITUDINOUS computers and sensors that are onboard even the most basic of car models.Knowing about your battery can tell you a lot and possibly tell you when to replace yours. IF your like me (I'm retired and spend the winter in the D.R.) and leave your vehicles untouched for months at a time, you will find this device and a trickle battery charger a necessity that will save you hundreds if not thousands depending on how long you own your vehicles. If you do two year leases instead of buying your vehicle, it still might not be a bad idea to own one if you start her up and all you hear is NOTHING!Hey folks, I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and moola buying and using stuff here on amazon so, if you found this review was HELPFUL, well....you know what to do! Many thanks fellow consumers!
