I picked Govee because I use their light strip behind my television and I love it. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up 3 of these plugs. I like the size of them because it doesn't block the upper or lower outlet, depending on how you plug it in. My wifi connectipon is excellent on all 3 of them. Using the Govee app was easy and now I can control my lights through my Amazon Echo Show 8. I renamed each light if I want to control them individually, or I can turn them all on and off with a command. Super easy. Super cool. Very happy with Govee and this purchase.

Easy to program and easy to use app. I almost returned them because they are not 5 GHz programmable. However, once I realized that I could program using the 2.4 GHz part of my router (but then use the 5 GHz for other things), I kept them. I am hoping to see a decrease in my electric bill because of having things either on the timer function or just on when I turn them on with the app.

LOVE! No more needing to reach below the sink cabinet to turn on and off the hot water heater! No more overworking the circuit breaker to turn on and off the hot water heater! Just go to the app and turn on. Can be programmed as well!! Life saver!

TLDR: I believe the tech is pretty good, and works well and looks to be of better quality then my last ones I owned. I should have given it 5 stars but I have a doubt in the back of my mind. Read below for more.The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the widget on the phone takes like 5 seconds to connect each time I use it. I'm sure its with good reason and it maybe that it is even the operating system of my android that prevents it from being able to keep constant connection. Or maybe its waiting for communication with the outlet because of 2.4 ghz connection (can only connect on 2.4 which is probably a good thing, considering its longer range and you don't want to clog up your 5ghz wifi with crappy things like outlets). Or maybe its my router that even though is a gaming router triband and cost me 300 bucks might not be able to keep up with the connections on the 2.4 I don't really know what the problem is, however I'm optimistic that its not the outlets fault or the software.I have owned other outlets that failed me after 6 years they would not stay connected to the wifi at all. even after hard power resets. Now I know all things wifi don't usually last longer then 6 years, (i wonder why that is?).However, I did find the software and easy and speed of connecting to be considerably easier then the etek city outlets I had before. I'm very pleased with them for what I need them for, which is really only lights if I am to be honest. I know what your thinking why not buy wifi bulbs? well... if you buy a bulb and the LED dies on you, then its 40-60 dollars of trash, and it only has one purpose, Lighting / mood lighting. Also if the LED lasts for 20 years but the wifi only lasts for 4-6 years on it, then its 14-15 years of trash investment. Where as an outlet has more purposes even though I don't use them.To be fair I should probably have rated it 5 star but I will always have my doubts as to the issue of connectivity that I experience, even though I'm a tech guy and am knowledgable, I don't know everything, and cant say why the problem exists. But it is a small one. What happens is the widget on my home screen of my phone gets pressed and then there is a 5 second connecting ring usually, and then it will display if its actually on or off correctly once connected, but then I have to press it again to actually turn it on or off. In that time I could probably have loaded the app faster, but it may still need to connect too, I don't know as I only use the widget feature which I like that it even has.Hope this review helped you pick one.

I can’t give these more stars. If I could I certainly would. These smart outlet devices are super easy to install. It took me less than two minutes. So far they seem to perform as designed. I had to switch from Wemo and wish I would have long ago.Highly Recommend.
