SimplexHealth Total Hardness Water Test Strips (50 Strips)

These test strips are easy to use and 100% reliable. I've been using them to test the hardness of drinking for several years and have repeat purchased them many times.. The reason being that I live in a motorhome and move around quite a bit and have found that in some parts of Europe the water is very hard and furs up the plumbing and the hot water boiler. I have a portable water softener which needs a simple service as it's performance falls off. These strips allow me to see when it's needed. They are excellent.During the time I've been using these I've also bought a few of the electronic ones I've seen advertised. I've not yet found an electronic one that could give me anything like a reliable result. The three I've bought have been completely useless for my task. I've also reviewed some of them, to the chagrin of at least one of the suppliers.

Easy to use and a good guide to overall water hardness but the colour rendition at the soft end of the scale is not sufficiently distinct for water softener calibration. In practice there is little discernible difference between the 0 and 40 ppm result. These strips can tell you that your water softener is working and working well but can not confirm that it is producing "totally" soft water. The tablets are better for this.

They work brilliantly straight away. A bit expensive for a few strips but definitely worth having. Helped me confirm that my old water softener was not effective and that the new one worked well and is set properly.

Perfect for checking my water hardness/softnessjust had a water softener fitted and wanted to check the status of my water to taps shower etc.the results were very reassuring as i'm new to softened water and doubted that its was working so efficiently .these test strips gave me a quick result and can highly recommend them based on my results ..

Does the work... Although is a qualitative test and not quantitative I was able to test the hardness of my tap water, shower head filter, jug filter ... I have purchased this product to test my new head shower filter and unfortunately the strip test gave me the same result as the tap water. I am having some issues with uk hard water (hair and skin issues due the hard water ) and I wanted to test. I have tried my shower head filter and did not notice any difference on my hair. (In soft water countries my hair is soft-low hardness) that means the strips gave me the right result because the shower filter does not do the job. Thanks to the hardness strips I managed to check the differences. Gave only 4stars because is difficult to match my results with the colours meter ( the colours were very similar brown - dark orange - red) I was not 100% sure of my colour result . Thank you it does the job but not good for differentiate between hard waters. Maybe is only good to differentiate between soft and hard water.

top not sealed so it is difficult to guarantee the freshness against the use-by date - about a year. In use, I found that the colour of a hard-water source as opposed to a newly-filtered source is not great. Re-sampled after a few days of use of the new source in case it was cross contaminated. same result. Newly filtered indicated water was still quite hard, although no evidence in kettle to support that. So in summary, my view is that these strips give an indicator but would not go to court with them. Hard to fault them on price though and I havent bought another brand to compare against.

I wanted to see if our water filter was working. My grandchildren loved being the scientists to perform the tests. I’m pleased to say that our hard water is improved considerably by passing through the filter.Many thanks to the Simple health test strips.

Used to test my water softener, however the results never really changed no matter how I set my new water softener programing. So, I bought a different brand of testers and tested the water and found the results I expected.For some reason these did not test accurately.
