Q: Does this flash all the time when its working (ie could it go in a bedroom or would it be disturbing)

Hello RedfrogYes the operation light flashes once every few seconds. This is a tiny LED light which is not noticeable generally but in a dark bedroom you will be aware of it. Mine is located just outside the bedroom door and if I visit the toilet during the night I do notice it. This is a very dim light but I am aware of any light in a completely dark room. The unit itself is good value and I would recommend it. Hope this helps.

Q: does it have audible alarm?

Hi Mrs S, yes the detector does have an audible alarm. I used three at my elderly parents house. One in the boiler cupboard (follow the siting instructions) screwed to the wall. And one in each of their bedrooms, just freestanding near the bed as my father is a bit deaf. They are compact and don't look too clinical if you just tuck one discretely on a low shelf. Easy to set up and test. I also bought one for my own house, everybody should have at least one.

Q: Does it have an end of life battery alarm? I know the battery lasts long, I would still like to know.

I cannot remember what it is - but there is meant to be some kind of a warning when the battery runs down. Also, there is a button that can be pressed to test it at any-time and in addition, a tiny light flashes every few seconds to indicate live operation. You do not notice this flashing unless you are directly looking for it - so it is not a distraction.
