Me and my drum...
I bought this drum for my one year old daughter's birthday. I have a drum set myself, and figured it's never too early to get a little drummer started!It's a difficult item to rate, because there's nothing inherently bad about it - it is solidly built, brightly coloured and very child friendly - but at the same time, there's nothing outstanding either. I've seen toy drums before which either light up, play along or, more importantly, sound like a drum. This item fails on all three parts. Obviously you know before you buy it that it doesn't light up or play along, but you would probably expect something which sounded vaguely drum-like. Though this toy has the passable look of a drum about it, the sound is simply that of beating two bits of plastic together. My daughter already beats her high chair tray etc with a wooden spoon - I probably could have saved £15 and allowed her to continue doing so.
