This is the only protected lamp fitting that is wide enough for a PRO REP deep heat projector. A light cage will be too small.That lamp is, subjectively the best reptile heat bulb I've ever had, so you need this. Your snake will be under this more than your old ceramic heater, IF you get a D.H.P. lamp.........

The media could not be loaded. Amazing value and great item, easy to assemble and clamp on to tortoise table, was expecting Thursday-Friday delivery and it came on the Wednesday! So was very happy with the fast service. Excuse the pyrimading on one of the tortoises (she’s a rescue) Thankyou

Efficient

A really great light guard and reflector. Does what it should and comes with some extras like velcro 'zip ties' to keep the wire out of the way.The one drawback between buying two of these, is that one of the three feet that latch on to the rim of the light, each time I've had one that needed jiggling about or some of the rim needed bending so I could get the latch in to place. If you're not careful, tugging on it too hard can bend/tear the metal rim like I did. It still latches on securely, but just keep this in mind.

Just got all the bits I need to move my tortoise into his new home this was the last bit. I tested it out when it first arrived and it was fine although we immediately noticed it had a nasty dent in the side, rather conveniently the box has a little "window" cut out to show off the shade and the dent wasn't positioned in the window.. There was also no damage to the box which to me suggests it was packed with the dent and whoever packed it did so in such a way a customer wouldn't see it.. I managed to get most of the dent out and decided to just live with it by facing it away from where we look at it.. then I got everything set up plugged it in and after a few minutes the lamp holder started smelling strongly and then the bulb started flickering and eventually went out.. The plug then started making some really weird buzzing noises so I unplugged it. I then tested another bulb in the lamp and that one did the same. I tried both bulbs in an older lamp holder and both work fine. So this shoddy excuse for a piece of kit not only stank the place out, but stopped working and by the sounds of it was potentially unsafe... then to top it off as I took the bulb back out a bit of metal that forms a contact with the screw part of the bulb fell out... this thing is not safe and should be avoided like the plague. Possibly the most dodgy craftsmanship I've seen for years! I will be returning

Good sized lamp. Used for terrapin in a medium tank. Doesn’t get hot and clamps on the side with no problem.
