The best answer is somebody does it for you, it is challenging to try to do it yourself. That said, one leg lines up with your hip following the bone to the knee. It is important that your thigh and hip are lined up so a straight-back chair is good. I used an office chair that was high enough that I could easily have my foot 90 degrees to my knee. The other leg of the device points down to your foot. Now the hard part, pulling your foot back while keeping the device in place. Good luck to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
