Same as the Old Boss (Fantastic!)
We had the older version of this vac for over 10 years and it was getting tired. Time to replace. After reading the reviews was disturbed and puzzled by some of them pointing out small odd differences that they made to sound negative and so I was initially put off this vac. After reading/comparing I decided to disregard these slightly negative reviews and sally forth having trusted Hoover for so many years and getting excellent service from our older similar unit. So glad I did. This vac is superb value for money. Very much the same as older model but a bit refreshed. Yes, power button and rinse-able disc is lower in the handle. A slight re-design for whatever reason. All around shape of vac is the same. Color scheme is different from old model. This new vac has super suction. Our cat migrates bits of litter around the house and I can see these bits shake as the vac approaches with the power of the suction. Brush must be adjusted a notch higher probably due to being new and not worn down at all. This brings me to the 'hard to push around' mentioned in a couple of reviews. It is the same as old vac. Same weight which is not overly light, a bit heavy but is the same. If the brush is adjusted low and you try to push over a carpet, you will encounter resistance due to the brush really scrubbing the carpet. In this case it will be rather hard to push. Our floors are a mix of bare, low area rugs and low/medium carpets with a couple of very small thin pads near the entrance. Old vac I mostly had brush set on next to lowest. This new vac brush set one notch higher (middle notch). At this setting I can hear the brush lightly touch the bare floor and have plenty of scrub for all carpets/rugs and difficulty of pushing is same as old, as would be expected. The suction is so powerful, this vac will actually pick up the small pads at the entrance door. I have to stand on them while vacuuming carefully or they will be sucked right up and stick on the vac bottom. I'm so extremely pleased with the value and performance of this vac and so happy we got it. Really no idea why anyone would buy another unless perhaps needing a propelled model due to one's own physical limitations. The one major difference from old model is the power cord seems to be about 3-4 inches shorter! Otherwise everything works awesome. Auto-wind cord snaps up super quick. I highly recommend this vac.

Powerful!
I purchased this Hoover Wind Tunnel to replace my 13 year old Hoover Wind Tunnel that, while still working, had a frayed cord. Here are the highlights: (1) I vacuumed 2 days before my new Wind Tunnel arrived; when I used the new one I was astounded at the amount of dirt that came up, so A+++ on the suction power. (2) As other reviewers have mentioned, this machine is LOUD - a really high pitched squeal. I generally have headphones in when I clean, so the noise doesn't bother me too much. (3) The tools are terrific. No problem with them staying mounted on the machine and easy to take on and off. (4) The cord rewind works great. I always try to be cautious and not "stomp" on the rewind lever and hold the end of the cord so that it doesn't whack against the machine (this is how my old cord got frayed). (5) Cleaning the dirt container on my old machine was a breeze - remove the container, pop the top and rinse the filter. Why they changed it on this machine is beyond me and is the reason I knocked one star off the review. After several uses, the red bar on the top indicated it was time to clean the filter. I removed the dirt container ... and after that I was stuck. No matter how hard I tried to turn the top so I could remove the filter, it wouldn't budge. I was extremely frustrated and finally had my husband try to open it. After he struggled with it, it finally came off and I was able to rinse the filter (wow, was it dirty!) and after letting it dry for 24 hours tried to reinstall it. Again, it took way longer than necessary to figure out how to tighten and close the top. I'm hoping this gets easier over time, but was disappointed that it was so difficult to turn. Other than that one feature (why oh why did they have to make this important part so difficult) I am quite with the power of this lightweight machine. (Also, the cord is at least as long as my old machine, so no issue there)
