Seems to work well
I've no issues with the device. It seems to boost the signal well enough

Backfeeds power input on data terminals
DO NOT USE ON INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS! I purchased this product to help isolate some noise on an rs485 network between a RA Micro820 PLC and some RA Powerflex 40 VFDs. The second the unit powered on it destroyed the serial port on the PLC, faulted it, and the PLC lost it's internal memory. After trouble shooting and examining - this is what caused it.The isolation unit allows its power supply to be momentarily feed back on the master side A and B terminals. Though it says "industrial" on it, and though it says it can handle a 9-36VDC supply; in an industrial application where the DC power is going to be 24VDC this is going to cause damage to whatever serial port is connected to it.Upon further investigation - After resigning myself to a destroyed PLC I decided to probe around the isolation repeater with an oscilloscope... This unit not only back feeds dc supply into the data terminals on power up, it sends high voltage spikes (well above VDC supply) on input and output terminals on power-up and power-down. Not only this, but the unit actually added around 7 Vpp of noise to the data line. The noise was high frequency, and I assume switched mode noise, likely from the units internal power converter. With Vpp noise added to an rs485 network, NO transmission signal is ever going to be received. 7Vpp is well above rs485 protocol standard signal voltage levels. My advise is to buy a more robust module. This one from what I can tell - does nothing. In fact, it does the exact opposite of its intended purpose, and destroyed several hundred dollars of industrial equipment in the process...

Seems to work fine.
I had a some sort of surge come back down the 485 control line from one of my outdoor PTZ cams to my home automation system and it toasted the 485 port. Bought this in hopes it will isolate me from another incident but only time will tell.
