It broke!
This item broke after only 4 transfers. However, vendor refunded promptly. A similar purchase from another vendor also broke after 4 uses. These inexpensive motorized VHS adapters seem cheaply made. FYI, a used, non-motorized adapter was my solution!

Started off STRONG! Put in a VHS-C that was at the beginning of the tape and it broke.
Packaging was great, seemed sturdy enough and it was playing two VHS-C tapes. I put in the third and closed the lid and it began to expand and then i heard snapping. When i lifted the tape cover, I saw the tape of the VHS-C was at the beginning so I assumed it just couldn't pull it through. Wound the tape manually so it wouldn't be so close to the beginning and tried again and heard the same noise. Took the tape out and closed the lid and the mechanisms just wouldn't not stay in the expanded position, the popping noise continued, and then the lid flew open and now won't close.TL;DRThe thing broke after 3 uses.

Great!
My cassette adapter malfunctioned halfway through digitizing my dad's cassette tapes. This replacement worked perfectly! I was able to finish the job without anymore hassles!

Small cartridge installing
Unlike the original unit, fitting the small cartridge into this player is a challenge. It is not a drop in, but a struggle in, but it works and that is what matters.
