This thermal camera is excellent. It connects easily to my phone and works perfectly. The image quality is clear and detailed, and it’s very useful for my work inspections. It’s compact and easy to carry around. Highly recommend it to anyone needing a reliable thermal camera for their phone.

I am still exploring the features of this device. I am coming from a major competitor's product that is similar. I use it with an android device.Pros: I like the dual lens feature and do notice an improvement in function and image quality when scanning walls. The image clarity is much better than my other device given the resolution of this product. I also like that the app auto-opens when you plug the device into your phone.Con's: I do not like that for a product with this price point, I have to pay to unlock app features. The AI assistant seems like a very beneficial tool to use, but I should not have to pay for a feature, especially when the AI feature is still in Beta testing. The company should re-evaluate charging for features like this.Another thing that bothers me is that when scanning a drywall-covered wall, I can see the stud locations nicely. But I cannot replicate with a stucco wall. Yes, it is thicker, but my other device would be able to without issue. This may be a setting issue that I have not discovered yet. But for now, it is a bit annoying. I know this is not a $2,000 thermal camera, but when you have a comparable product able to do something this does not, it feels like something is missing.I am still exploring all the features and doing more real-world testing. So, I will update this post if I discover anything major.

This is a very high quality thermal imager. It will take a little playing around with the settings to get the highest quality of photos, but don't let that discourage you, this under 500$ thermal camera beats plenty of thermal cameras over the 1000$ price mark. TOPDON is top tier in this field, and they make great tools besides this, particularly geared towards automotive. I will be picking up more products off of them for my automotive business. As an Architect and contractor I needed to know where the insulation was missing or insufficient in a historical home's attic without ripping open holes. I was very pleased by how easy it was to use and the clarity of the images. It has a ton of different customization settings and the ability to save them directly to my Samsung S23 means I can show my client the images right away. It's sensitive enough that the steel wall studs clearly show up making it even more useful! I'm sure I'll find even more ways to use it. Sturdy carrying case with room for cables means I don't lose anything and it stays safe. Great value and very happy

A thermal camera is one of those things I've always thought would be nice to have, but never needed one enough to buy one. These cameras are at a price point that helps them make more sense, and they work incredibly well. I did have to buy a little USB-C adapter so that I wouldn't have to remove my phone's case every time I used it, but they're cheap and it works fine without a case on the phone, too. It's definitely accurate enough for chasing down leaks and finding hotspots. Actually, testing it against regular thermometers, it's pretty much been on the nose. It seems well-built and the case keeps it protected when it's not in use. The visual camera overlay is a super-nice feature as well. I wouldn't hesitate buying it again.

WARNING - If you use a protective cell phone case on your Android phone, the infrared device will 'not' plug-in properly. I now have to incur the additional cost of buying an USB-C extender for my cell phone and Topdon. I don't have this issue with my Anker battery bank - they made allowances for a protective cell phone case. Why would Topdon think people would not use a protective case on their cell phone? Flawed design.

Great little thermal. The image gets a bit washed out when looking at a room etc, with almost like a haze around the outer rim. This can be reset by pointing at something black for a full minute using the calibration feature.Changing the temp is a bit odd and in a strange place in the app.When setting the temperature from C to F, if you then adjust the value in F, it takes the value as C, and so 100f will show as 212 F. If they fixed this and the slow degradation / of the image (hazy edges) I would give 5 stars. Otherwise works well and is quite sensitive. Great for finding leaks in house projects etc. and analyzing electronics / mechanical heat signatures.It comes with a dongle so if you have a case that would normally block the USB C port on the camera from reaching this allows you to still connect and have some extra mobility too.

This device is well made and the android software works well on my Pixel 7a. This TC001 Plus appears to be equivalent to the TC001, but adds a visible camera that adds a useful visual reference to the thermal image. The software lets you overlay the visible image behind the thermal image. There's an adjustment that lets you shift the overlay. (There's some parallax when you move between closeup and far away images. The biggest problem I see is that there's no user manual available for the TC001 Plus. The 'manual' links that they give you link you to a one page user setup guide (which is included in the package anyway!) I did find a full manual for the TC001, which is somewhat useful for the Plus. The software is actually pretty easy to figure out without a manual.
