Vortex mixer.
Since staying a new hobby, painting miniatures, about a year ago. I have steadily built quite a collection of hobby tools to aid my creativity. One of the one things I had considered to be slightly unnecessary, was a vortex mixer. After all, you can simply shake a paint bottle to mix it, right?Oh! How wrong I was! Since acquiring this one, I realised just how handy they are. Now, I don't have anything to compare this to in terms of how good it is. But I love it! The motor seems pretty strong and certainly mixes my paint very well. I use it every single time I pick up a new colour. At this price, it's a no brained. Very highly recommended indeed.I always try to write an honest and unbiased review of all the products I order. My reviews are only my opinion, of course, but I hope they help.

Poor instructions, doesn't work well
The media could not be loaded. Looking through this listing, I was unclear exactly how this mixer worked, but I assumed that you somehow put liquid inside it, turn it on and leave it a few minutes. That is not what this is though. It is a simple, low power motor with a weight attachment to make it vibrate when you push down on the coloured silicone top.The idea is that you push down a small paint jar or nail polish bottle after putting a few ball bearings inside the jar or bottle. The vibration moves the ball bearings in the liquid and moves it.The main issue here is that it's just not really powerful enough to achieve much. You can certainly achieve more by shaking the bottle manually for 20 seconds, as the motion generated by this vibrating machine doesn't move balls around in the liquid. There are no magnets moving the balls around, this purely relies on the walls of the bottle/jar making direct contact with the moving part of the motor in order to do the mixing. One potential issue I can foresee here is that if you're using somehing in a glass jar, you run the risk of shattering it, as you do need to press it down quite firmly. All in all, it's just not very good. It might be useful for people who regularly need to mix small plastic jars of paints (or something similar), but even then I think there are probably better options.

Working as advertised
Okay, I'm probably a terrible person to review this thing, unfortunately. It works as advertised. You plug it in (you'll want to be quite firm with the plug end that goes into the device), and that's it, it's on. You press a sample vial, nail polish bottle, little paint pot, whatever in or onto the silicone top, and it vibrates.I got this hoping I would be able to use it to mix fountain pen shimmer inks - the shimmer particles sediment at the bottom of the bottle, and so need to be mixed into the ink every time I use it. Shaking it by hand generates an unfortunate amount of bubbles at the top, which I was hoping to avoid via this device. Unfortunately, as it works via vibrations, it too generates bubbles at the top - at which point, I may as well just shake the bottle, it's faster.

Mini Vortex Mixer
A neat little vibration based mixer. Just hold your paint bottle/test tube etc. down on the silicone buffer and you are off! I used this to mix airbrush paints which for the most part have their own mixing ball, but if not, this set comes with a generous supply of ball bearings to add to your mixing container.

Small but powerful vibration that’s handy for lots of household tasks
I’ve been using this device in the kitchen for removing accidental over-aeration of mixes, mainly ice cream, milkshakes but also tempered chocolate.Just a few seconds on this device will remove a significant amount of bubbles. It’s very simple to use; just plug it and put whatever you want to vibrate on top and push down. The suction cup feet do a great job of holding it in place and the power cable is a good length too.I’m not sure how resistant to water it is (I’m guessing not at all), so I cover it with cling film before using any to prevent it from getting wet or dirty.I keep finding uses for this all the time, there’s always something that could do with shaking and it’s much less effortful and more fun to do it with this vortex mixer.

Good enough for Games Workshop paints
This works by pushing the paint pot down on the green top, which then vibrates to mix the paint. You can put a ball bearing or two inside the pot to generate more movement. I've been careful not to do this as poorly made ball bearings can absolutely ruin your paint if they start to corrode and in this case there's nothing to tell me what the balls are actually made of.Otherwise though it does the trick, at least for tiny pots of acrylic paint.
