Carpet is clean, looks like new , great at digging out ground in animal fur. They do tend to get spat out the side of the machine like something the cat makes.Cleaning the brush thing to the method in the instructions, not really the sort of thing a normal person would do. But i did it . getting around the belt felt like i was going to break something. The task is extra fun when everything is covered in filth. Be nice if the bit that squirts the water was removable,(looks heat staked,and the pipe(pointing with finger) not sure how long or if it would be an absolute to put back. Would have like to rinse the clear plastic under water.Recommend buying the big bottle of cleaning solution at the machine sure gets through it.Machine is wider than expected. Feels sturdy to carry by handle unlike a dyson.Drying is adequate on thick and thin carpet, doesn't particularly like uneven lino flooring,the flat bits work much better.Machine makes cleaning large areas time efficient with relevant ease, you will be refilling and emptying tanks .The attachments are a nice selection so one can pick and choose what works for them.Amazon is prompting me to talk about leakage,i did not experience any.Hope the vax 6 year guarantees is good, i can imagine failure to clean with diligence after use would cause problems , glad they chose metal Phillips screws over quater twist plastic tabs that jam and break.Recommend a good quality philips no2 and a steel wire brush.

Why did you choose this product over others?:Cleans carpets, rugs and upholstery. It is effective but it does take a lot of effort. It doesn't function well on long time, in grained stains. However it performs well on cleaning carpets and rugs. Great for freshing up sofas and chairs upholstery. The machine is easy to use once you get the hang of the functions which takes some getting used to. The cleaner it self is heavy and quite cumbersome is large and takes up a lot of space.

I bought this after we had had one too many spills on the carpet in the sitting room. Nobody tells you children spill everything they touch, it should be in book. Anyway, it arrives in many pieces but the instruction guide is pretty decent and putting it together doesn’t take long. Everything has a reassuring feel to it and it clicks together well. It is quite heavy though so that is something to consider.Filled it, plugged it in and off we went. I started on the “rinse” option. The gentler of the two and I was gobsmacked. The sheer amount of dirt that came up from the carpet. Even in areas that haven’t been sullied by direct juvenile action the amount of dirt that came up was astonishing. The carpet was damp afterwards but not uncomfortably so and dried really quickly.Sitting on the sofa that evening I was talking to my other half and she said “well at least you got everything out of the carpet now…” oh how wrong she was. The next day I decided to do it again on full power and again, the liquid that came off the carpet was almost black. As I moved through the rest of the house in a miasma of conflicting emotions, joy and disgust, I looked up other people’s experiences and realised I was in good company. This is a common response to the first time use.Now, a month or so later and I have used it numerous times and the water is no longer black it is more a muddy river brown but the carpets feel, smell, and look, amazing. Even with a deep clean on a cold winter day they dry within a couple of hours.I would wholeheartedly recommend. It isn’t a vacuum cleaner mind so make sure to vacuum first but as a carpet cleaner it is amazing.5 stars.

Great value for the money. It cleans extremely well, far better than a previous machine not a Vax. Cord is sufficent even for the largest room. Slightly on the heavy side, like all such machines but it is easily manoverable.
